My Billionaire Thinks I’m His Cat Not His Fiancée Chapter 10

My Billionaire Thinks I’m His Cat Not His Fiancée Chapter 10

Surprisingly, everything went smoothly after that.

Ethan showed incredible determination.

There wasn’t a trace of awkwardness or strangeness between us.

But some habits ran deep.

He still loved feeding me. When I cleaned my plate, he’d get that soft, approving look. He still grabbed my wrist when we crossed the street, like I might bolt into traffic.

Habits are scary things.

When the System had nothing better to do, it would gossip about Ethan.

It showed me the full conversation between him and Miss Hart.

Miss Hart taught him, “Sabotage her job. Make sure she has nowhere to go. She’ll have to come back to you.”

“No. Is there a way to do an obsessive pursuit that’s legal, doesn’t hurt her, and doesn’t make her hate me?”

“…That’s called pursuing someone.”

The System said he’d sometimes come home and just stand by the sofa, frozen. Sometimes he’d lie down on the spot where I used to curl up and sleep there all night.

He’d eat alone with the little yellow bowl set next to his plate, and stare at the giant beanbag in his study—the one he’d bought as a cat bed.

He’d restock the snack cabinet with fresh stuff.

He’d sit in my now-tidy bedroom, no longer needing daily cleanup, and scroll through his photo gallery.

The System sighed: [You went to work. You didn’t abandon him.]

[And when are you two going to stop this ‘starting over’ nonsense? My commission! My bonus!]

I was busy closing up my shop and didn’t bother answering.

I’d opened a flower shop recently.

Hey, I had money now. Who still wants to work for someone else?

After work, the Maybach was parked outside as always.

The hulking black car somehow seemed restless, like a big dog trapped at home, desperate to go out.

Ever since he started trying to buy out my entire inventory just to take me on dates, I’d banned him from the store.

The System said: [Been waiting two hours. I think the ‘abandoned cat’ effect is nothing compared to the ‘wild man’ effect.]

I slid into the passenger seat.

Ethan smiled warmly.

Then, casually, “Are you coming home tonight?”

“No.”

“Alright…”

He rambled.

“…The house is so cold. All those little stickers you put on the mugs have fallen off.”

“Every day I come home and everything’s too tidy, the pillows are at the head of the bed, the paperwork is all neat…”

I didn’t say anything.

But the System had been at its limit lately.

[Sti~ckers~]

[You two are already attached at the hip. Keep dragging this out and I’ll electrocute you both!]
