My Alpha Mate Shoved Me Into The Trunk For The Omega’s Dog Chapter 05

In the video, Hemlock soaked up every ounce of praise from Mia and her friends.

One Omega whined, “Alpha, your mate is so petty. All over a tiny disagreement, she threatened to break your mate bond.”

Another rushed to agree. “To have such an outstanding Alpha like Hemlock as her mate, she should be endlessly grateful.”

Mia let out a soft, exaggerated sigh. “I didn’t realize Avril lacked any sense of humor. Alpha, I hope we haven’t caused you trouble.”

Any faint unease Hemlock had felt melted away beneath their nonstop flattery, his confidence swelling.

“Rest assured, Avril loves me deeply—she’s just consumed with jealousy over you.”

“She’ll come crawling back crying within two days, begging me not to cast her aside.”

One Omega dared to ask, “Alpha, between your mate and Mia, who do you favor more?”

Hemlock hesitated, not answering right away.

Then Mia’s self-deprecating tone echoed through the video.

“Quit teasing me—there’s no way the Alpha would ever take a fancy to someone like me…”

At those words, a fond, indulgent smile spread across Hemlock’s face.

“How could I not?”

The video cut off amid soft, suggestive giggles.

Right after, another message from Mia popped up.

“Sorry Avril, I sent that video by mistake. Don’t watch it, delete it straight away.”

I scoffed silently.

Sent by accident? She could’ve recalled it if that were true.

Even my wolf could smell her fake innocence through the screen.

Back at the pack house, I packed my few daily belongings and clothes into a suitcase.

I left the house key resting on the entryway counter.

I shut the door without a single backward glance and checked into a hotel for the night.

Over the following days, I poured all my energy into wrapping up work handovers.

Free from pointless drama, my days felt full and peaceful for once.

No more rushing back to the pack house every evening to cook Hemlock’s meals myself.

No more fretting over him drinking himself sick at social events.

No more staying up late sorting summaries of pack related issue for him.

No more quiet heartache when he abandoned me yet again to rush to Mia’s side.

While Hemlock and I cut all contact, Mia bombarded my inbox with messages every single day without fail.

Hemlock bought her brand-new dresses.

Hemlock took her and Buddy to the pet groomer.

Hemlock carried her through gaming matches and earned MVP every round for her.

Their flirtation no longer stung my mood, but being forced to scroll through this this meaningless drivel wore me thin day after day.

Annoyed beyond bearing, I typed a quick line on my screen.

“Hemlock and I are no longer mated. You don’t need to update me on every detail of your lives.”

After hitting send, I blocked the overly innocent-acting Omega Mia entirely.

That evening, I worked overtime until nine o’clock.

Laughing and chatting with fellow pack members as I exited the council hall, I crashed straight into Hemlock, his face dark and stormy.

Hemlock shot a sharp glance at the wolf beside me and demanded coldly.

“Is this the reason you’ve been throwing a fit and refusing to come home these past days?”

It took me a beat to process his malicious accusation.

The wolf standing next to me was Benjamin, a newly joined Gamma in the pack.

He’d been assigned to take over my position.

We’d spent weeks walking him through all our pack protocols and duties, so naturally we spent lots of time side by side.

Benjamin looked utterly confused. “Avril, did the Alpha assign us a task?”

I smiled gently. “It’s nothing important. You can head home first.”

Benjamin nodded his goodbye and left.

He’d barely stepped out of earshot when Hemlock snatched my arm hard.

His jaw clenched tight with rage.

“Avril, I’m talking to you—are you pretending I don’t exist?”

“Who exactly is that boy?”

I twisted free from his grip, revulsion curling in my chest.

“We already severed our mate bond. Who I spend time with is none of your business.”

Hemlock’s anger flared hotter, fists balled tight, bitterness oozing from every word.

I came to find you myself—how much longer do you plan to keep this childish act up?”
