My Alpha Mate Shoved Me Into The Trunk For The Omega’s Dog Chapter 03

My Alpha Mate Shoved Me Into The Trunk For The Omega’s Dog Chapter 03

Cars lined up behind us, horns blared nonstop, drivers growing impatient behind us.

To avoid blocking traffic, I slid into the back seat without argument.

The car pulled up outside a shopping mall minutes later.

I spotted Mia from a distance, waving wildly with several shopping bags hanging off her arms.

Three Omegas around her age stood beside her.

The car rolled to a stop right in front of Mia.

She flopped down in the front seat and batted her eyelashes at him. “Alpha, could you drop my friends off at their places first?”

Before she even finished speaking, one of the young Omegas pulled open the rear door.

Her eyes widened in shock when she saw me sitting there. “Wait, someone’s already back here?”

Awkward silence hung thick in the air.

Mia finally registered my presence in the back.

She feigned genuine surprise. “Avril, I had no idea you were riding with him. My friends can grab an Uber instead—we won’t trouble you, Alpha.”

She reached for her seatbelt like she planned to climb out.

Hemlock clamped a hand over hers without hesitation.

He twisted around and shot me a sharp, pointed look.

“Avril, there’s no more room in the car. You’ll have to get a taxi home.”

I hadn’t even warmed the seat before he ordered me out.

I didn’t cry, didn’t throw a fit.

I simply watched his taillights vanish around the street corner, calm and quiet.

Thankfully, the rain had let up entirely.

Right then, my phone rang—the Alpha King’s number lighting up the screen. He confirmed my transfer to his Silverpine Forest territory starting next month.

He’d sent me multiple official invitations over the past two years.

I’d turned every single one down, too attached to Hemlock to leave Blackthorn Valley.

But I’d woken up to the truth at last.

I’d left my family’s territory against their wishes just to follow Hemlock here.

He’d treated me well once, in the beginning.

When he learned my favorite cake was berry flavored, he’d waited two hours under blistering sun to buy one for me.

When I’d spiked a fever, he’d stayed up all night tending to me.

When I worked late sorting pack related issue, he’d bring late-night snacks to sit with me.

Back then, drunk on happiness, I’d truly believed we were fated mates.

Mia arrived half a year ago, and six years of our bond had crumbled into nothing.

When disappointment piles high enough, the truth hits hard.

Once your mate stops loving you, they won’t even bother with half-hearted excuses or empty gestures anymore.

The weekend rolled around soon after.

Hemlock texted to say Mia was treating us to dinner.

I typed back a single reply: “I’m not coming.”

His call came through instantly, his tone sharp and hostile.

“Aren’t you done with this petty fight? Mia inviting you out is a show of respect for your position as future Luna—you ought to be grateful.”

I thought it over. If I planned to sever our mate bond, I needed to speak with him face-to-face.

I hailed a taxi and headed to the restaurant.

Hemlock hadn’t arrived yet, stuck in traffic.

As I stood outside the entrance, laughter drifted out from inside.

“Mia, your Alpha spoils you so much!”

Mia put on a sad, wounded tone. “It’s a shame he already has a mate.”

“You mean the girl he locked in the trunk on that trip? She doesn’t hold a candle to you.”

A second Omega scoffed loudly. “She only needs to bat an eye, and he’ll drop you instantly.”

I tugged a cold smile onto my face and pushed open the restaurant door.

Every mocking voice inside cut off mid-sentence the second they saw me.
