My Alpha Married My Best Friend Over a Game Chapter 09

But I never expected Clive to cling to me after that.

For the next whole week, Clive wouldn’t leave me alone. Everywhere went, he somehow managed to

show up.

On my way to work, at the outpost, at the coffee shop I frequented. He seemed to have memorized all of it

and waited there.

Fresh yellow roses arrived every day.

An unaware colleague gasped. “He sends you flowers every single day, Felicity. Doesn’t that count for

something?”

I smiled and said nothing. I just unwrapped the flowers and gave them to the others.

Theodore said from the side, “Not every hurt can be forgiven with compensation afterward.”

The colleague looked embarrassed and shut up.

Just Clive’s relentless clinging was exhausting enough. But I never expected Charlotte to show up too.

When she stopped me on the street, I could hardly believe my eyes.

She was wrapped in bandages, with long scars on her face. The moment she saw me, she almost dropped

to her knees.

“Felicity, I’m begging you. Make Alpha Clive let me go. He’s a demon!”

She begged like she’d lost her mind, tears and snot mixing together. “He said… he said it was all because suggested that damned statue game back then. Now he’s using the same game to punish me!”

Only then did I learn that Clive had poured all his anger and regret over losing me onto Charlotte.

He forced Charlotte to play the statue game, only this time, the stakes were far more brutal.

When a knife cut her face, he made her stay still, or he’d cut her again.

He tied her to a tree and drove the car straight at her.

He took her to a bungee platform and pushed her off before her safety harness was secured.

“It’s because of you that Felicity left me!”

“I really can’t take it anymore… I’ll die by his hands!” Charlotte screamed until she was hoarse and reached

for my pant leg. “Felicity, I’m begging you!”

Before, I might have felt sorry for her. Now I felt nothing.

“Charlotte, when I had a high fever, collapsed on the ground, and begged you two to take me to the hospital, did you feel even a shred of pity?”

“I’m not a saint. You brought this on yourself.”

I shook off her hand and let her fall to the ground in despair.

She crawled after me, trying to say more, but a shout cut her off.

“Charlotte! What are you doing here! I told you to stop bothering Felicity!”

Clive rushed over and grabbed Charlotte by the throat.

Charlotte screamed. “I’m about to be driven crazy by you! Why does she get to live so well? If I’m

miserable, you two don’t get to be comfortable either!”

They started shoving and hitting each other, eventually stumbling into the road.

Suddenly, headlights flooded my vision. Tires screeched, followed by a sickening crash as a car slammed

into them.

Someone screamed. Footsteps rushed past me. Soon, an ambulance arrived, its siren wailing.

I stood frozen, too horrified by what I’d just witnessed to move.

Then a warm hand gently covered my eyes.

“Don’t look.”

Alpha Clive and Charlotte died on the spot.

When their bodies were collected, some parts were mixed together. In the end, they were put into the

same body bag.

A heavy rain fell that night and washed the blood off the road, as if nothing had happened.

But I knew my life from then on would be different.

People found out who the dead were.

Most said they deserved it. A few said they didn’t deserve death, but those comments were quickly

buried.

I didn’t pay attention to any of it.

Because my new life had begun.
