My Alpha Fiancé Let Another She-Wolf Wear My Scent—So What? I Let His Rival Wear My Ring Chapter 07

Every so often, the kingdom threw combat trials, and every pack had to show up.

That day, after the final round wrapped, I was standing off to the side of the platform, clapping for Aldric and the

warriors.

Onstage, Aldric suddenly locked eyes with me. Then he started walking straight toward me, calm and deliberate. My pulse kicked up. Before I could process what he was doing, he grabbed my hand and pulled me out to the center of the

arena.

For the first time, because of Aldric, I was standing on a stage I’d been chasing for five straight years, finally getting acknowledged. The spotlights hit us full force, and the crowd went wild with applause. At long last, I was tasting the recognition that should’ve been mine all along.

I mouthed a quiet “thank you” to Aldric. He just grinned. “You earned this.”

My eyes stung. As I dropped my gaze to cover it, I spotted Kaelen in the front row with bloodshot eyes, glaring at us.

The next second, he stormed onto the stage. “Ha. Alpha Aldric really knows how to work a crowd. With all this flashy crap, you’d think he was actually that good! If you’re really as strong as you act, why don’t you fight me right the hell

now?”

I’d never seen Kaelen lose it like this in public. To everyone else, he’d always been the untouchable golden boy. The desperation in his open challenge didn’t match his usual vibe at all.

Instantly, the crowd started buzzing.

“Wait, isn’t that Alpha Kaelen, the strongest Alpha around? He’s actually calling someone out?”

“Right?! He’s always acted like nobody in the kingdom could touch him.”

“But the way he’s going off right now, he clearly gives a damn about Alpha Aldric!”

“Hold on, isn’t that she-wolf on stage his ex-liaison and former mate?”

“That whole mess was massive. Is he here trying to win his Luna back?”

“Honestly, the drama between the three of them is kind of insane.”

The energy in the arena spiked hard.

I had no clue why Kaelen was pulling this stunt, but I didn’t want our history dragging Aldric down. “You don’t have to do this. Ignore him. Your strength doesn’t need this kind of circus to prove itself.”

Aldric looked at me, eyes unwavering. “Don’t stress. What I lost ten years ago, I’m taking back today.”

Since he’d already made the call, I backed off. Ignoring the weird, wounded look Kaelen was throwing my way, I stepped aside and let them have the floor.

They picked identical techniques to run at the same time. Each took a separate platform, with officials stationed on both sides to judge. In the end, the audience-seasoned enough to know what they were watching-would vote for the

winner.

From the jump, Kaelen’s moves were sharp and brutal. Aldric, on the other hand, stayed level, moving with that steady control he always had. Same techniques, but two totally different vibes.

In the first half, they were neck and neck. The crowd was glued to every move.

But in the second half, Kaelen’s stamina started cracking. His aggressive style, which burned way more energy, began falling apart. His rhythm slipped, his precision tanked, and he even botched some basic-level moves.

I wasn’t shocked, though.

Over the years, he’d gotten lazy, coasting on raw talent. His training had dropped off hard, especially after Linnet showed up. Every time I pushed him to step it up, he’d get annoyed. Instead, he’d waste his time entertaining her, making her little gifts, and babying her every need.

Today’s result was written in stone the second he stopped caring.

When the match ended, Kaelen just stood there, totally deflated, his face dark as hell. The final vote was a landslide for

Aldric. The crowd turned vicious toward Kaelen.

“Once-in-a-century prodigy? Looks more like once-in-a-century joke!”

“With moves like that, how’d he even dare challenge Alpha Aldric? It’s painful just watching!”

Kaelen’s eyes went red. He couldn’t take it. Through gritted teeth, he spat, “Bunch of clueless nobodies! You think you know anything?!”

Then he looked at me, like he was waiting for me to comfort him or something. I turned my back and looped my arm

through Aldric’s, and we walked off the field together.
