She hung up in a fit of rage and left me a voicemail. “If you’ve got the guts, stay out there and never come

back!”

Her voicemail got no response. Only then did my mom start to panic, saying blankly, “She… she blocked my

number too.”

My dad tried calling as well, then shook his head. “Elena never lost her memory. She’s most likely not sulking

with us, either.”

“She might… really have given up on us.”

My parents were silent for a few seconds. In the end, they had no choice but to send the guests away.

On the way back, my mom kept telling herself, “Elena has always had a temper. She’s probably at home right

now, waiting for us to go coax her.”

“Once I transfer that estate to her name, she’ll definitely calm down.”

Isabella looked incredulous and spoke in a soft voice. “But didn’t you already give that estate to me?”

My mom frowned. “Elena has a temper. If she doesn’t get the estate, she won’t cool down.”

“You’re the older sister. Let her have this one.”

“Besides, isn’t that building of yours and Luca’s under your name?”

“I’m going to change the name tomorrow.” Luca suddenly spoke up, and Isabella’s face, already pale, went

even paler.

“Changing the name back and forth is too much trouble.”

“And besides, you already promised me…”

Luca’s patience ran out completely. “Elena paid for half of that building. I can’t make that decision on my

own.”

“If you really want one, you can buy a plot in the city center and build a tower of your own, just like she did.”

Isabella clenched her fists tightly and spoke in a hoarse voice. “Since the moment Elena gets angry, you’re

going to take back everything you gave me.”

“Then why did you give it to me in the first place?”

“Why did you let me have hope, only to throw me into despair!”

My mom couldn’t stand seeing her cry and hurried to comfort her. “Alright, alright. Stop crying.”

“I won’t take it back. What’s given to you is yours.”

“At worst, once we’ve saved up enough, we’ll buy her a new estate.”

My dad, who’d stayed silent the whole time, also spoke up. “Elena’s soft-hearted. Say a few nice words to her

later, and it’ll all blow over.”

“Where is she?”

An embarrassed look crossed my dad’s face. “I was afraid you’d leave and ruin the wedding, so I made it up.”

“Besides, other than this home, she has nowhere else to go.”

I’d poured years’ worth of savings into the family. Other than my parents’ home, I truly had nowhere to go.

“Maybe she went to the family stronghold? You know, she cares more about the family’s operations than I do, and I’m the Godfather.”

“After all, she said that day she had something to do and couldn’t make it to Isabella’s wedding.”

Luca was just about to head downstairs to get the car when his phone suddenly rang. Jumping on the screen, clear as day, was my phone number.

Luca hit answer right away. “Elena, I-”

My lawyer cut him off before he could speak. “Mr. De Luca, hello.”

“I’m Miss Bellini’s attorney, handling the asset dispute between you and her.”

“The townhouse under both your names and the jointly funded tower need to be liquidated.”

“For anything related from here on, please discuss it with me.”

While Luca was still stunned, my mom snatched the phone out of his hand. She said impatiently, “Elena, get

back here right now.”

“Isabella and Luca cancelled the wedding for your sake. What more do you want?”

“The two of them have already slept together. Even if they end up married, it’s only natural.”

“Are you really going to cut ties with your family completely over a man?”
