Live Streamed Death: Reborn to Ruin My Family Chapter 07

Chapter 7: The Ones They Hated Most

Before the trial, they asked to see me. I agreed.

In the county jail visiting room, a thick sheet of bulletproof glass separating us, there they

were.

It had only been a few days, but they looked twenty years older.

Mark’s hair had gone completely white. Stella’s eyes were swollen from crying. Skyler was hollow, like a puppet with its strings cut.

The moment they saw me in a wheelchair, all three of them lost it..

Stella fell to her knees, pressing her forehead against the glass..

“Mia! Mom was wrong! So wrong. Just this once, please forgive me!”

She was a mess-tears, snot, the whole thing.

“I’m a terrible mother! Please, for the sake of us being mother and daughter, beg the judge to go easy on me. I can’t go to prison, please!”

Mark’s face twisted into a fawning, desperate smile.

“Mia, I treated you badly. I was a bastard. I’m sorry!”

He slapped himself across the face-hard, again and again.

“If you drop the charges, I’ll be your servant for life, whatever you want. Okay?”

Skyler, though? He just stared, full of hate.

“Mia, you happy now? You sent Mom and Dad to jail. You tore this family apart. Feels good, doesn’t it?”

Stella and Mark’s faces went pale. They shouted at him.

“Skyler! Shut your mouth! Apologize to your sister, now!”

“You little brat! You asking to get hit?!”

Skyler acted like he didn’t hear them.

“I’m telling you, don’t get cocky. I’ll get out someday. And when I do, I’ll come for you myself.”

Stella scrambled closer, pressing her hands together through the glass.

‘Mia! He doesn’t know what he’s saying! He’s just talking nonsense! Don’t listen to him!”

“We know we were wrong! We really do! Please, show us mercy. Give us a way out!”

Mark’s voice cracked. He was crying.

“Mia, I’m begging you. Please. Our family can’t survive without Skyler. He’s the only son. The only one to carry on the family name.”

I almost laughed.

“Did you forget I’m your child too? Or did that never matter?

“Mom, remember when I was burning up with fever, barely alive? You spent every dollar we had on a gaming console for Skyler. You said girls were tough-I’d survive if I just sweated it

out.

“Skyler, remember when you stole the scholarship money I’d saved for half a year? Just so you could buy your new girlfriend a designer bag?

“And when I caught you, you actually said, ‘What’s yours is mine. Why are you being so selfish?””

With every word, their faces twisted tighter.

Those old memories they’d long forgotten-they were scars carved into my bones.

“And now you want to talk to me about family? About blood? You think you deserve that?”

Mark’s face turned red. The mask slipped.

“Don’t push it! We’re the ones who gave birth to you! Without us, you’d be dead! Now You think you can bite the hand that fed you? You’ll burn in hell for this!”

“That’s right!” Stella shrieked. “You ungrateful brat! How did we raise such a vicious daughter? You’re going straight to hell!”

I smiled.

“If anyone’s going to hell, it’s you.

“I’ll be up here, living my best life. I’ll take your money-the money you paid me–and I’ll live the life you always dreamed of.

“I’ll buy a mansion. Eat fancy food every day. Drive a luxury car. Travel the world.

“And you can sit in your prison cell and watch.”

With that, I turned my wheelchair and left without looking back.

Behind me, their screams shattered into hopeless cries.
