Life Reset Don’t Love Me With Your Betrayal, Don Chapter 05

Ethan did not try to contact me over the next two days.

He wanted me to have space to calm down. He was also afraid he would say something hurtful or do something irreversible if we spoke again.

He did not go back to the mansion. He stayed at Sophia’s cottage instead. He leaned back against the headboard, one hand holding a cigarette, the other wrapped around Sophia. He wore a deep frown.

He could not understand why Olivia refused to see his good intentions and kept opposing him at every turn.

As the heir of the Walker Family, his word was law in Boston’s underworld. Yet all his power and influence meant nothing when it came to Olivia.

“Ethan, put that cigarette out. I’m pregnant,” Sophia mumbled sleepily, but she did not loosen her hold around him.

He did not extinguish the cigarette right away. He looked down at her sharply.

“Did you tell Olivia about the college application?”

Sophia’s face went stiff. She studied his expression nervously, her lips tugged together in resentment.

“I did. She’ll never understand you anyway. Ethan, I’m the only one who really loves you.”

Ethan crushed his cigarette out in an instant. He slapped her hard across the face, his face completely devoid of emotion.

“That’s the last time. If I catch you provoking Olivia again, you’re out of here for good.”

The Walker Family never kept useless people, nor did they tolerate traitors.

Tears welled up in Sophia’s eyes. She nodded quickly under his icy stare.

“I understand.”

Ethan’s expression softened. He leaned in and kissed her cheek as a form of comfort.

“Be a good girl.”

He glanced at his chat list with Olivia, which had no new messages at all. A strange sense of unease settled over him.

He pushed the feeling aside quickly. He knew Olivia well. She would never let her parents become the laughing stock of everyone at the wedding.

With that thought, he put his phone away and fell asleep.

The wedding day arrived soon enough. Ethan drove straight to the venue from Sophia’s cottage. Everyone greeted him warmly as he walked inside. He looked around the hall with a satisfied smile. Every detail was styled after Olivia’s preferences. She would love it, he was sure.

“Where is my bride?” He asked Raymond Voss, the family advisor. Anxiety began to creep into his heart.

Before Raymond could answer, the laughter of nearby guests drifted

over.

“Look how anxious the groom is! She’s just getting ready. No need to rush.”

Ethan relaxed a little. He waited patiently, certain he would see Olivia walking down the aisle soon.

It was twelve noon exactly. He stood at the front of the venue. The wedding emcee held a microphone and told stories of his and Olivia’s love, moving many guests to soft smiles.

Ethan smiled, but the smile froze on his face a second later.

He scanned the crowd. Not a single member of the Carter family, nor any of Olivia’s friends, were present.

What was going on?

The emcee’s loud voice cut through the crowd.

“Now, let us welcome the beautiful bride, Olivia Carter!”

Applause erupted throughout the hall. Five full minutes passed, but no one appeared.

The guests began to murmur among themselves.

“What’s going on? Where is she?”

“I haven’t seen Olivia all day. Do you think she ran off?”

“That’s not impossible.”

Ethan heard every word. His heart hammered wildly in his chest.

She had run away. Could Olivia really have left him at the altar?

He stood rigid with shock. A large screen behind him suddenly flickered to life.

[I can give you anything you want, even children, as long as you obey me.]

[Congratulations. She’s five weeks pregnant, and the baby is perfectly healthy.]

[The child will be raised by Olivia.]

[Ethan lied to you the night after graduation. He stayed with me the whole night. He didn’t even write his own wedding vows—I did. He just memorized them.]

[Oh, and Ethan was the one who changed your college application.]

A deathly silence fell over the entire venue.

Every guest stared at the screen in shock, listening to Ethan’s cold words playing through the speakers.

A glass shattered on the floor. The quiet broke, and chaos exploded across the hall.

“No way! That’s Ethan Walker? The heir of the Walker Family?”

“He wants Olivia to raise his child with another woman? That’s disgusting!”

“Olivia must be behind this.”

Ethan stood rooted to the ground, stunned beyond belief. The

embarrassment of being exposed never crossed his mind. Only one thought repeated in his head.

Olivia had run away.

That explained why not a single member of the Carter family was here today.

Sophia sat among the crowd, utterly horrified. Other guests recognized her instantly.

“Aren’t you that secretary? How dare you show up at their wedding? Have you no shame?”

Her face turned deathly pale. She reached out for Ethan, hoping for his protection. But Ethan was already rushing out of the venue in a panic, as if he had been disowned by his family.
