I’d asked her. “Being called the kid without a father, that

from him.” 

“Think about it. Decide if you can do it.” 

She’d already chosen to be the other woman. She didn’t have a 

very broad view of things. 

On the night of the gala, she showed up. And she put on a 

spectacular show. 

My sister attacked Benjamin on the spot. She must have 

known about the woman for a while.

off, leaving the room full of guests staring. 

The crowd slowly dispersed. The woman left too, swinging her 

hips, her child in tow, heading toward Benjamin. 

My sister sat there in a daze until I walked over. The huge hall 

was empty except for the two of us. 

“How did you get in? I told security not to let you.” 

I tapped my badge. “Sorry. I’m here on behalf of a business partner. No one can keep me out.” 

“Fun, wasn’t it? Bet you didn’t see that coming.” I smiled wickedly. “Last time, you killed me at a gala. This time, I destroyed you at one.” 

Her eyes were red, her face wet with tears. Hatred burned in 

her gaze like poison. 

“So what? I still beat you. I’ll just accept that bastard kid. Most of Benjamin’s fortune will still be mine.” 

“Oh, really?” I raised an eyebrow. “You sure about that?” 

“You’ve been home too long. You’ve gone soft. If you don’t 

believe me, check your stock price tomorrow.”
