Justice for Wronged Grandma Chapter 05

Justice for Wronged Grandma Chapter 05

Corinne’s face froze for a second.

Then she frowned, her eyes still red.

“Ms. Voss, even your targeting has limits! Spreading lies publicly is too much!”

I looked at her, my voice steady.

“Corinne, everyone says you’re outstanding. Then tell me- your six law review papers. What books and cases are your arguments and legal citations from?”

She opened her mouth, a flash of panic in her eyes, then quickly regained composure.

“Ms. Voss, I will not fall into your trap of proving a negative.”

Comments cheered again, praising Corinne for staying calm.

I nodded and took two steps forward.

“Then I’ll tell you.”

“In your freshman year, you bought a paper from a low–income student. Sophomore year, another. Junior and senior year, two each. All six papers were written by

underprivileged students I’ve mentored voluntarily. You took them and put your name on them.”

“They didn’t dare speak up–because you’re Silas Crane’s granddaughter.”

In an instant, the screen changed.

Original documents of all six papers appeared.

Each showed complete revision history, late–night notes, line–by–line edits.

The real authors‘ names were clear–not one was Corinne

Crane.

“Corinne, the burden of proof is on the claimant. Do you

think this evidence is enough?” I looked at her.

Corinne’s lips trembled.

She stepped back, her high heel catching on a cable.

Silas Crane’s eyebrows furrowed deeply.

Comments began to shift:

[No way? All papers bought? That’s her first–in–class record?]

[Just got destroyed! This whole thing is not what it seems!]

[So that’s why Elara rejected her?]

Then victims began speaking out in the comments:

[She stole my paper sophomore year. I reported it to the

college. The advisor called me the next day and told me not

to “ruin class unity.“]

[That paper was my roommate’s. Her grandfather Silas called

the school directly to cover it up. My roommate almost

didn’t graduate.]

[I’m another victim. I worked three months on a paper. She

took it. I had nowhere to complain–the school was too

scared to cross the Crane family.]

Corinne stood on stage, all color draining from her face.

Silas Crane stared at the comments, his face darkening.

I smiled faintly.

I pressed the remote control.

A video began to play.

In the footage, Marlow Veyra sat at my desk.

“Corinne will join your firm. Please arrange it.”

A sealed cash envelope slid across the desk.

Then her voice continued:

“I’ve seen plenty of young women like you. You rely on your appearance to gain advantages and play at being righteous

now.”

“My family has been in this circle for decades. The

connections we built are not something you can get by sleeping with a few men. Don’t push your luck.”

The comments went wild:

[This is a respected artist? What terrible behavior!]

[This old woman is disgusting! Says successful women slept

their way up?]

[Her granddaughter just spoke for women job seekers… I’m

sick.]

The entire room went silent.

The sound of camera shutters stopped.

The frame froze on a close–up.

Me pushing the envelope back.

Everyone saw it clearly.

“Corinne,” I looked at her.

“When you faked your academics, when your grandfather

bullied poor students, when your grandmother tried to bribe me–did you ever care about educational fairness?”

Corinne staggered.

She spun around, eyes red, and looked at Silas Crane.

“TURN IT OFF!” Silas Crane shot to his feet.

“Jax! Cut the video! It’s fake! It’s slander! Elara Voss, as a lawyer, you dare fabricate evidence!”

Jax frantically tried to operate the equipment.

He sweated heavily, but the screen didn’t move.

He couldn’t turn it off.

They fired me.

But I still held full system access.

I built that live stream platform myself.

I turned back to Silas Crane.

“Professor Crane, you said you came from a remote valley and understand struggle. Does that struggle include

abandoning your wife and child for your own future?”
