“Just a Freak Show, Don’t Be Dramatic” Chapter 05 A Glimmer of Hope

“Use all your men! Search the sea where the boat went!”

Dylan was stunned and almost fell over, rushing out and screaming, “I’m going to see for myself You good- for-nothing trash can’t even keep track of a single woman!”

Axel and Dylan searched the sea for three days and got nowhere.

Seeing them pull away from her, Willow went to them directly.

“Nancy probably just got mad and went MIA, but I’m the one who actually matters to you guys!”

Willow clung to Axel’s arm with the exact same soft, delicate touch she always used.

Dylan didn’t even hesitate for a single second before he slapped her straight down to the floor.

Willow looked completely shocked.

“You’d actually strike me for her?”

Axel spoke in an icy tone, “Get out. Don’t bother me before I find her. Why would you ever think you matter more than Nancy?”

Willow had never been treated so harshly by them. She burst into tears and ran off.

She sensed that something was subtly different.

Axel punished himself by refusing to eat or sleep.

He just sat in the living room, smoking one cigarette after another.

Dylan burst through the door and demanded, “Why aren’t you looking for Nancy? Are you really going to give up?”

Axel was completely silent, standing there like a frozen statue.

Dylan rushed over and punched him hard in the face.

Axel hit the ground, but Dylan wasn’t done and tried to punch him again.

Axel finally fought back.

He had combat training, and he was completely enraged.

He didn’t even hesitate before punching back and dropping Dylan to the floor.

But then he just stopped.

The man who always kept everyone at a distance was now shedding tears.

Axel gripped Dylan’s collar with trembling hands and cried out, “Did you know that Nancy already knew everything we did to her?”

Dylan was completely paralyzed, whispering in disbelief, “How could that be? It’s impossible!”

Axel continued, “They install cameras in private hospital rooms to monitor the patients.

“I just discovered today… she was standing right at the door listening to our conversation that day.

Dylan was shaking all over, but he finally managed to pull himself together.

He couldn’t even bear to imagine what Nancy would do once she found out the truth.

At first, they totally hated Willow.

Later, they just felt bad for her… there was nothing else going on.

Axel’s voice echoed in the dark, filled with absolute despair.

“Nancy… realizing her own family treated her like that… she must have been completely broken.

“How could we… treat her like that?”

Dylan covered his head and let out a painful scream, “How could you tie her to the back of a ship?! My sister couldn’t even swim!”

Axel smashed his fist against the floor with all his might.

He hit it so hard that his hand was left completely mangled and bloody.

Dylan rushed out of the room, shouting, “I have to find my sister! She is absolutely terrified of water, and I won’t let her stay in the ocean!”

Axel painfully pulled himself up from the ground and dialed his assistant’s number.

“Keep searching. Even if we have to spend every single resource we have, I will find her no matter what.”

They searched the ocean for a whole month, but still didn’t find anything.

Axel was totally losing it in his office, yelling, “Why is there not a single trace?!”

The office was dead silent, no one daring to utter a word, until the secretary entered.

“Mr. Lewis, I have discovered some other matters. Shall I show you?”

Axel dismissed everyone else from the room and summoned Dylan.

Dylan burst through the door, asking in a panic, “My sister… is there any news about her?”

The secretary nodded and stepped out, shutting the door.

Axel and Dylan opened the envelope and found a USB drive inside.

They plugged it in and watched a video from an airport.

Nancy was right there on the screen, walking fast through the crowd with some guys around her as she was.
