IPO Eve: His Workaholic Wife Quits Chapter 06

Chapter 6 Destroye

I didn’t want to deal with Maxwell, so I walked right past him. I’d barely taken a step when he grabbed my sleeve. “Natalie, the company’s falling apart without you. Please help me. I really can’t keep this up anymore.”

I turned around with a cold expression and yanked his hand away, “We’re divorced. Whatever happens to your company has nothing to do with me anymore. Let go or I’m calling the police!”

Maxwell wouldn’t back down and had the nerve to say, “Natalie, I know I did a lot of things to hurt you. But aren’t you at fault too? All you ever did was work, work, work. Your health wasn’t great, and you couldn’t get pregnant. I can’t just end my bloodline for you, can I?”

I already knew Maxwell was rotten to the core, but hearing him say something so shameless still hurt. It hurt to see what he’d become.

“If you make Tiffany get rid of the baby and never see her again, I’ll think about helping you.” I looked at Maxwell calmly.

Maxwell froze for a few seconds and then hesitated before speaking, “Natalie, it’s still my child she’s

but you…. carrying. Once she gives birth, I’ll let you raise it as the mother. Tiffany can’t live without me, Don’t worry. I absolutely won’t let her threaten your position.”

I smacked Maxwell hard across the face. “Maxwell, you’re absolute trash!”

He seemed shocked by how firm I was being, and his embarrassment turned to anger. He grabbed my throat and roared, “Natalie, you ruined my company and almost drove it bankrupt. If anything happens to me, I swear I won’t let you get away with it!” His hands tightened, and I felt like I couldn’t breathe.

Julian had just arrived at my building when he saw what was happening. He punched Maxwell and knocked him to the ground.

When Julian saw how red my face was, rage flooded through him, and he tightened his grip on Maxwell. “Maxwell, you’ve got some nerve showing up here!”

I was scared Julian would seriously hurt him if he kept going, so I had to step in. “Julian, that’s enough.”

Then I looked down at Maxwell bleeding on the floor and smiled. “Maxwell, I’ll help you. Come to my office tomorrow morning to sign the contract. But after I help you, we’re done for good.”

and he scrambled off the floor. “Natalie, I knew you wouldn’t just When Maxwell heard that, his face lit up stand by and do nothing! I’ll see you tomorrow morning!”

Julian came home with me, and I pulled out the first aid kit to patch myself up. “Natalie, do you want my help taking down Sullivan Group?” Julian couldn’t help asking.

I touched the wound on my neck and sucked in a sharp breath from the pain. “Can you look into Tiffany and her baby? And also, dig into Maxwell’s finances over the past few years.”

That baby Tiffany was carrying definitely wasn’t Maxwell’s. Maxwell hadn’t focused on work in years, but he’d been throwing money at Tiffany like crazy. Something fishy was definitely going on there.

“I’ll get you answers,” Julian said without hesitation.

m and couldn’t help feeling grateful.

The next day. Maxwell showed up at the office and eagerly signed the contract the moment I handed it to

him.

After working at Sullivan Group for years. I knew they never bothered checking contracts carefully because I’d always been there to clean up their mistakes.

This time, I’d deliberately planted some traps in the fine print. Consider it my parting gift.

Soon after, news spread that Sullivan Group had gone bankrupt and been bought out at rock-bottom prices.

Julian’s investigation turned up evidence that Maxwell’s finances had been suspicious for years and that he’d been embezzling company funds.

I submitted everything directly to the court, and the judge ruled that Maxwell had to pay back millions in debt.

Back when the company hit crisis mode, Maxwell had panicked and desperately borrowed money from anyone he could find.

When investors refused to lend, he’d promised to pay back double just to get them to agree.

Now the company was completely destroyed, and Maxwell had racked up over a hundred million dollars in debt. All his assets were frozen, and he had nowhere to go except the streets.

Maxwell knew I’d set him up, and he came looking for me in a rage, but security threw him out before he even got through the front door. That night, he ended up sleeping under a bridge.

Suddenly a group of men showed up, grabbed him, and dragged him to some warehouse. Someone dumped a bucket of water on Maxwell’s face, and when he opened his eyes, he found himself surrounded by a bunch of tough-looking guys.
