I Won’t Reject You the Sixth Time Chapter 08

The more Harlan listened, the paler he grew. He felt cold, as if he’d fallen into an ice pit.

He vaguely remembered that five years ago, he had been badly injured and lying in a healing

den, where a she-wolf had cared for him tenderly.

But he hadn’t been able to see her face clearly, and the strong herbal smell in the healing den

had masked her scent, so he never knew who she was.

Then Liora had stood before him, shyly claiming she had saved him. And Harlan had believed

her.

He had always seen me as a fragile princess, one who wouldn’t spend that much time

nursing him.

But if I were truly so fragile, how could I have gone to the Dark Abyss five years in a row to

gather Moonflowers, just for a prayer?

Harlan had underestimated me. He had underestimated my love for him.

The debt of gratitude he had held onto for five years was nothing but an elaborate lie.

The person he thought he owed everything to was actually the one who had saved his life.

And the weak, helpless Omega he had defended at every turn was a vicious, ungrateful

snake.

“No… that’s not possible,” he muttered to himself.

The way he looked at Liora was full of shock, fury, and disbelief.

Liora’s body went rigid at his gaze. The blood drained from her face.

Her panicked expression was as good as an admission of the rogue’s words.

The truth cut through Harlan like a sharp blade.

Then he spat blood and began to beat Liora mercilessly. Liora screamed.

Harlan had gone completely mad. He willingly let himself be exiled from the pack along with

Liora, becoming a rogue.

He stole all the food she managed to beg, leaving her just enough scraps to stay alive.

He made her kneel in the mud and repeat the story of her deception over and over,

whenever she hesitated, he beat her.

and

Liora, for her part, shrieked curses at him, revealing how he had broken the crystals, defiled

the Moon Goddess’s ceremony, and wasted Ivy’s youth.

They argued day and night, clawing at each other, slowly draining the life out of each other in

a filthy corner.

In the end, I never went to Streamveil Pack.

There was no need to rehash the past. I trusted the wolves of Streamveil Pack to make a fair judgment on Harlan and Liora.

So I just stepped outside the den and told my friend that I wouldn’t be seeing either of them

again.

Then I went back inside and was surprised to see that strong, powerful wolf secretly wiping

tears from his eyes.

“You came back?” His shocked expression was almost comical. “Did you forget something?”

“I didn’t forget anything,” I said. “I just want to be with you.”

I opened my arms and hugged him. He was burning hot. He let out a low growl and lost all

control, pulling me down.

We both shifted. His wolf form was sleek and powerful, twice my size. He pinned me down,

licked my fur, nibbled gently at my muzzle and neck, and frantically marked me with his

scent.

Then we moved to the bed. His body filled my vision until I could see nothing else. He

touched every inch of my skin, leaving a mark, as if claiming his territory.

My body trembled as I struggled to bear the heat of his Alpha pheromones, so intense it felt

like my lungs were burning.

I could barely breathe.

Even though we barely knew each other, his body knew mine perfectly. He knew exactly where to press, where to hold back, where to slowly break me down.

Every touch was precise. He was skilled, experienced, and devastatingly effective. By the

time he was done, I was completely dependent on him.

Afterward, I lay on my back, breathless. He grew gentle, softly stroking my skin and kissing

my hair. His eyes were as beautiful as the moon.

“So beautiful,” I whispered, touching his face.

“Everything I am exists because of you,” he murmured, kissing my hand. Then he looked at me nervously. “Can we go again?”

What? That was only the first time?

Before I could even process it, he pulled me onto his lap again…

A year later, I was pregnant. Ashveil Pack was thriving under Valerius’s leadership and mine.

Sometimes I looked up at the temple on the Holy Mountain, my gaze calm and untroubled.

All the love, the hate, the obsession, the old wounds, they had faded with time.

My life had already turned a new page, full of light and hope.
