The school officially expelled Chloe.

Because of her age, she wasn’t formally prosecuted, but the disciplinary action would follow her on her academic record.

Mom and Dad sent her to a strict boarding school in the Midwest.

Before she left, she threw a massive tantrum.

She clung to Mom, crying that she didn’t want to go.

But this time, Mom didn’t relent.

“Chloe, you nearly ruined Tessa’s life,” she said. “We can’t let you stay here anymore.”

The day she was sent away, Chloe sobbed and insisted that I had framed her.

But no one in the family believed her anymore.

From that day on, Mom, Dad, and Nico began trying desperately to make it up to me.

They visited me at the dorm often.

They brought new clothes, snacks from Whole Foods, and fruits I used to like.
