I Was the Wrong Girl in His Bed, Now I Own His Empire Chapter 09

As it turned out, Bryson really was a top student. He had clearly done his homework very well over the years.

To be fair, I had never thought he was “bad” that night at the graduation ball.

But now, with comparison, I finally realized Bryson’s definition of “good performance” was far beyond

normal standards.

Every time I trembled and tried to pull away, he would catch my ankle and drag me back.

“Baby,” he murmured, “getting full yourself and ignoring others isn’t à good habit.”

That night stretched on endlessly.

By the time it ended, I was drenched in sweat and completely exhausted. Bryson carried me into the

bathroom.

The water in the bathtub broke into ripples, sinking into the night…

The next morning, I was woken by the doorbell.

Bryson was already up at some point, washing up in the bathroom.

Still half asleep and irritated, I got out of bed and walked to the door.

The moment I opened it, a familiar voice hit me head-on.

“Bryson, look what I brought you from your mother/Cream pasta. A sur-pri-”

Alina.

I never expected to run into her like this.

This was Bryson’s Manhattan residence, and I was only wrapped in a bathrobe.

Worse still, Bryson had left a trail of bite marks around my neck.

The moment she saw me, Alina clearly didn’t recognize me. Her eyes immediately turned red.

“Who are you? Where’s Bryson?”

I stepped aside slightly.

At the same time, Bryson walked out of the bathroom after showering. The moment he saw Alina, his brows furrowed deeply.

“What are you doing here?”

“I passed by your place this morning. Your mother asked me to bring you cream pasta.”

Alina placed the container on the table, then pointed straight at me.

“Bryson, who is she?”

“You’ve always hated women who throw themselves at you. Why are you acting like this now? Sleeping with

a female celebrity?”

Bryson glanced at her briefly, then walked to the kitchen island and poured a glass of warm water, handing

it to me.

“Be precise with your wording,” he said calmly. “Let me introduce her. This is my girlfriend, Sienna

Davenport.”

The room froze.

Alina looked like she had been struck hard, almost losing her balance.

“She’s your girlfriend? Then what am I?”

“Your mother said I would eventually become part of your family. Have you thought about my feelings at

all?”

Her sharp accusation made me instinctively step back.

Vera had warned me before that in their circle, it was common to have one official partner on the surface

and another outside.

Even though I believed Bryson wasn’t that kind of person, hearing it stated so confidently still made me

hesitate.

As if sensing my thoughts, Bryson placed a hand on my shoulder, patting it lightly in reassurance.

Then he smirked.

“Whoever doubts it, bring the proof. Whoever makes promises, fulfill them.”

“If my mother said you’ll eventually be part of the Ventresca family, then you might as well call her godmother and start being filial early.”

“If that doesn’t work, try my father. He just dumped a mistress recently. You might still have a chance.”

Alina trembled with rage.

Tears in her eyes, she spat, “Bryson, you bastard!”

Then she ran out..

“Will she be okay like that?” I murmured, watching her leave.

Bryson turned my face back toward him and kissed me lightly.

“You’re worried about your rival?”

I pushed him away.

“I mean, what if she goes to your mother and complains? What if she tries to sabotage your career or mine?”

“She won’t.”

Bryson said it while lighting a cigarette.

Smoke curled around him, softening his sharp features into something even more distant and cold.

It reminded me of what Vera had once told me in private.

That day, she stood by the makeup room door, voice low and cautious.

“Ever since Bryson took over Ventresca Films, he basically purged the entire board.”

“Those old executives who used to follow the former Don were either removed or forced to hand over power

to survive.”

“I heard even the previous head of the Ventresca family has been sidelined by him.”

“Now the entire Ventresca Empire looks like a film company on the surface, but behind it, even the port

business and underground casinos in Boston answer to him.”

“There’s only one voice left in the entire family.”

“Bryson Ventresca.”

The night was deep.

On the top-floor terrace, sea wind carried the scent of tobacco and hit my face.

Bryson stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, sleeves slightly rolled up, his wrist pale and sharp, the watch reflecting a cold metallic glow.

In the distance, Boston Harbor lights stretched across the water like a sleeping beast.

He held a cigar between his fingers. The red ember flickered in the dark.

When the Ventresca family was mentioned, the lazy indifference in his eyes faded completely, replaced by something sharp and ruthless.

“They want to control me,” Bryson said with a low laugh.

But from the moment I was placed in the Ventresca Empire board, it was already too late.”

“Since they let me in, then from now on, the entire family speaks with my voice.”

His tone was calm.

But it carried an undeniable danger.

Not the arrogance of a rich heir.

But the presence of someone who had truly clawed his way up through bullets, betrayal, and blood.

I stood there quietly watching him.

I had never been good at business wars or family power struggles.

All I wanted was to act, to earn money, and to make sure my mother, who had been pulled back from the edge of death, never had to worry about medical bills again.

Thinking of that, I looked up at him.

“Then why didn’t you tell Alina that I’m Jasmine?”

“What, worried I’d embarrass you?”

Bryson paused.

Then he crushed out his cigar, turned, and pinched my face.

“Ow-”

I glared at him in pain, and he actually laughed.

“What exactly is going on in that head of yours all day?”

The night wind lifted his fringe.

His dark eyes locked onto mine.

“If you chose to change your name to Sienna Davenport,” he said slowly, “then that means the name Jasmine Bellrose is not just a name to you anymore.”
