Felix’s eyes turned cold, inch by inch.

Vantage Group was his fiercest rival. Several corporate bids had been snatched away at the last second by

the slimmest margin.

He had thought he was just unlucky. It turned out a corporate spy had been sleeping in his bed.

Vantage had investigated him thoroughly. They knew what kind of woman he liked.

They knew his family was pushing him to marry. They knew a woman named Sienna had been clearing

obstacles around him for years.

So Daisy appeared.

A stubborn, innocent flower, but without a single sign of real poverty.

He remembered the look in Sienna’s eyes when she said that, half–smiling, with a knowing mockery.

And he had only thought she was jealous.

Felix turned to look at Daisy.

Daisy backed away, frightened by the coldness in his eyes, but still struggling to defend herself.

“These are fake! Sienna is jealous. She forged them to frame me!”

Before she could finish, a slap landed hard on her face.

The force sent her tumbling into the sofa, half her face swelling instantly.

She covered her cheek, staring at Felix in disbelief.

The man who had always been gentle and forgiving with her now had fury practically spilling from his eyes.

“When did you start working for Vantage?”

His voice was soft, soft enough to send chills down Daisy’s spine.

She knew she couldn’t hide it anymore.

Daisy suddenly smiled.

She pushed herself up from the sofa, wiped the blood at the corner of her mouth, and the weak, timid flower seemed to peel off her face.

Underneath was a sharp, cold face.

“You’re asking when I started?”

She tilted her head, smiling meaningfully.

“From the moment you looked at me at the charity gala.”

“Mr. Sterling, did you really think your charm was enough to make a stranger fall for you at first sight?”

She smoothed the wrinkles on her skirt, her tone contemptuous.

“You were just a piece on Vantage’s chessboard.”

“But honestly…”

She paused, glanced at Felix, and laughed with scorn.

“I think you’re pathetic too.”

“You had Sienna, who gave you everything, and instead you believed a liar like me.”

“Do you know how much work she did to dig up my background? How many favors she called in to get that

file?”

“But she didn’t say a word. She just put it on your desk.”

Daisy smiled even more brightly.

“Because she was giving you one last chance, to see if you would even open it.”

“But you didn’t even look. You just pushed her away.”

Felix stood there as if ice water had been poured over his head.

Felix closed his eyes.

“Send someone in.”

His voice was hoarse and low.

Two bodyguards came in, both startled to see Daisy’s swollen face.

“Take her away.”

Felix didn’t even look at her again.

“Tell legal to prepare a corporate espionage lawsuit. Tell every partner in the industry that anyone who hires

Daisy Moore is my enemy.”
