I Took the Money and the Quadruplets Chapter 06

Liam found Cassidy at a charity gala she was hosting.

When he shoved open the doors to the Dallas country club ballroom, the entire room fell silent.

Cassidy was in the middle of a speech, a glass of champagne in her hand. The moment she saw him, the smile evaporated from her face, and the flute slipped from her fingers, shattering on the polished floor.

“Liam? Why are you here—”

He walked straight up to her, his steps precise and menacing.

“Was this your doing?”

Cassidy’s face went white.

“I… I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“My security team traced an encrypted call yesterday,” Liam said, his voice level but laced with steel. “It originated from a shell company owned by your father. Do you want me to play the recording for everyone here?”

Cassidy opened her mouth, but no sound came out.

He had proof.

The one thing she had feared.

“It was me,” she finally admitted, tears beginning to stream down her face in a practiced display of remorse. “But I did it for you, Liam. Ava isn’t right for you. She was only ever after your family’s money. I was helping you.”
