I Thought I Was His Stalker. I Was Actually His Girlfriend Chapter 07

I Thought I Was His Stalker. I Was Actually His Girlfriend Chapter 07

Her face looked pale in the flashlight glow.

One hand stayed hidden behind her back.

For some reason, every instinct in me went on alert.

“Stay away from Blake!”

She glared at me with open hatred.

“He’s my husband!”

She looked so vicious I genuinely felt like she might pull a knife and stab me the next second.

I immediately went along with her.

“Right, right, your husband. I barely know him.”

Apparently, that was the wrong answer too.

Her expression twisted even more.

She lunged forward.

The hand behind her back whipped around, holding a bottle.

Liquid flew straight at me.

I jumped backward on pure instinct.

The liquid hit the ground.

A sharp hiss cut through the air.

The pavement started smoking.

My mind went blank.

Acid?

She swung the bottle again, spraying corrosive liquid everywhere.

I screamed for help and ran in a zigzag, lungs burning.

Other people in the wooded area scattered when they heard the shouting.

I ran as hard as I could, gulping air, convinced I had just used every ounce of lung capacity I had ever

possessed.

“Sophie!”

Through the wind and chaos, I thought I heard Blake.

Not far away, one figure was running against the flow of everyone else.

Straight toward me.

Blake.

Light from the path and the moon blurred behind him.

His wind–tossed hair caught the light, every strand seeming to reach toward me like a hand.

“Sophie! Come here!”

The whole world seemed to quiet.

“It’s okay. Don’t be scared.”

Blake pulled me into his arms and moved me behind him.

His voice didn’t shake at all.

“I’m here, Sophie.”

There was absolutely no chance I wasn’t terrified.

All I could do was grip Blake’s hand.

My racing heartbeat seemed to land safely in his hands, taking root there at last, no longer drifting without

anywhere to belong.

“Sophie!”

The girl was pinned to the ground by campus security.

She screamed until her voice broke.

“Blake! You said you liked cute girls! You’re supposed to like me! What about Sophie is even your type?”

Blake’s eyes turned cold.

But the arm around me stayed warm.

He stared at her and said each word clearly.

“Sophie was cute to me first. That’s why I started liking everything cute. In the end, I only liked Sophie.”

By the time everything settled down, it was late.

The police took the girl away.

Her parents rushed over and begged everyone involved to let it go.

It was already clear she had deliberately attacked someone, and quite a few students had fallen and been

injured while fleeing in panic.

There was no way the matter could be quietly settled.

A week later, the school issued a statement.

She had been expelled.

When I heard, I was downstairs picking up food delivery.

I finally relaxed.

“Good. I really didn’t want to stay on the same campus as someone unstable and violent.”

Blake hummed on the other end of the call.

“Having a condition is one thing. Hurting people is another.”

The mood turned a little heavy.

I changed the subject.

“What did you buy me this time? You’ve already sent me way too many gifts lately.”

“Too many?”

Blake instantly became suspicious.

“Who else is giving you gifts? Owen? Someone else?”

I rolled my eyes.

“You. I mean you. How many things have you sent me this week? It’s just my birthday. You don’t have to go

this overboard.”

Blake relaxed.

“We’ll see. Your delivery is there. Go downstairs.”

The call ended.

I muttered to myself as I walked out.

“What did he buy now…”

Then I saw Blake standing outside my dorm.

Holding flowers in one arm and a cake in the other.

He was wearing a light–colored shirt that made him look softer somehow.

Almost like spring.

I stopped in front of him.

“I thought you said it was delivery.”

His ears turned bright red.

“It is. I delivered it myself.”

That made me embarrassed too, but warmth bubbled through my chest.

I took the flowers from him.

“They’re pretty. Why flowers and cake now? My birthday isn’t until the weekend.”

Blake looked apologetic.

“You sent me flowers before, and I didn’t accept them. I thought they came from the stalker, so I threw them

away. I’m sorry.”

I had already guessed that.

I wasn’t really angry anymore.

But seeing how guilty he looked made me want to tease him.

“So that’s what happened.”

I lowered my eyes and refused to look at him.

“I was really sad when the delivery driver told me you threw everything away. I think you even called it

disgusting…”

“I’m really sorry.”

Blake panicked immediately.

He reached toward my hand, then stopped like he wasn’t sure he had the right.

“I was-”

“So you need to make it up to me.”

I looked up and cut him off.

“Flowers and cake aren’t enough.”

Blake nodded at once.

“Tell me what you want.”

I smiled.

“You can make it up to me by being my boyfriend.”

Blake stopped breathing for a second.

Then happiness spilled into his eyes so fast he couldn’t hide it.

“Okay.”

Satisfied, I leaned into his arms and started rattling on.

“Oh, and you said before that you’d show me your chest. I’ve been dying to see it for ages-

The rest of my sentence disappeared beneath his kiss.

“Whatever you ask for, you’ve got it.”

“Right now, focus on kissing me.”
