I Stopped My Kind Son From Being Framed Chapter 09

I stood there quietly, watching her little performance.

Once her voice went completely hoarse from screaming, I finally pulled out my phone.

“Expose me? Perfect. I actually have something here that I’ve been meaning to share with the public.”

I tapped on an audio file.

This was a recording my private investigator had retrieved just last night after visiting Chloe’s hometown.

The voice coming from the speaker belonged to Chloe’s high school principal.

“Chloe Jenkins? Oh, back in sophomore year, she used the exact same tactic to frame a boy from a wealthy family. She forced them to pay twenty thousand dollars before the boy finally transferred schools.”

“Her parents didn’t care at all. They actually used that twenty thousand to buy a nice suburban house.”

Chloe’s mother stared at me, her eyes widening in absolute horror.

“You… you…”

I looked down at them, my eyes completely dead.

“What do you think will happen if I hand this audio over to the detectives? Does that twenty thousand count as grand larceny and extortion? As accomplices, how many years do you think you’ll get?”

The man’s face drained of color instantly.

He violently yanked the woman up from the floor and dragged her toward the elevator like he was running

from the plague.

“We’re done! We don’t have a daughter anymore!”

Shortly after Chloe’s parents fled, Arthur Miller showed up at the hotel, bringing his mother along with him.

The old woman marched right in, slamming her cane against the floor so hard it echoed.

“Valerie! Have you lost your damn mind? Who gave you the right to bring up divorce?”

She pointed her cane right at my nose, spit flying everywhere.

“Arthur was just looking at the bigger picture! A businessman needs to protect his reputation out there.

What’s wrong with that?”

Arthur hid right behind his mother, finally straightening his back.

“Exactly, Valerie. Mom came all this way herself. Drop the divorce papers, and we’ll just consider this chapter

closed.”

Looking at the bizarre duo, I felt a wave of nausea hit me.

“Closed?” I sneered.

“Arthur, did you completely forget how you forced Ethan to get on his knees yesterday?”

The old lady snapped, clearly unhappy with my tone.

“What’s wrong with making him kneel? A father disciplining his son is completely natural! Besides, that

Jenkins girl just wanted cash anyway. Arthur was only trying to keep the peace!”

She stepped closer to me, lowering her voice to a harsh whisper.

“Let me tell you something. That Harrington boy? His father is the biggest real estate developer in the city! Arthur’s company happens to be begging him for a major contract right now!”

“You need to go to the authorities station right now, drop the case, and sign the waiver. Tell them it was all a

misunderstanding!”

“That way, Logan gets released, and Arthur secures the deal. Everyone wins!”

I looked at the old woman and actually laughed out loud from sheer absurdity.

“Everyone wins?” I asked.

“Trading my son’s innocence to fund your son’s project. The greed in this family is loud enough to be heard

from space.”

Arthur panicked.

“Valerie! Don’t push your luck! Mr. Harrington explicitly said that if we drop the charges, he’ll give me a twenty-percent cut of the profits! That’s literally millions of dollars!”

“With that money, we can easily cover Ethan’s tuition to study abroad later! I’m doing this for the family!”

I stepped forward, staring directly into Arthur’s eyes.

“For the family?”

“You’re doing this for your own wallet. You’re willing to sell out your own son. Do you have a single shred of decency left?”

Seeing that the carrot wasn’t working, the old lady immediately resorted to threats.

“Valerie! Don’t you forget that everything you wear and eat comes from the Miller family! You dare divorce

my son, and I will make sure you leave with absolutely nothing!”

I looked at her like she was completely brain-dead.

“Old lady, are you losing your mind?”

I turned around, grabbed a thick stack of financial documents from my bag, and hurled them directly into Arthur’s face.

“Take a good look. The initial capital to register your son’s company came entirely from my father. Over the past few years, more than half of the company’s revenue came directly from my family’s connections.”

“Leave with nothing? You two are the ones getting kicked out!”
