I Stopped My Kind Son From Being Framed Chapter 02

I Stopped My Kind Son From Being Framed Chapter 02

It was 3:00 PM.

Ethan and I had just settled into a hotel near the campus.

Ethan’s phone rang. It was Dean Vance from the Office of Student Affairs.

On the other end, Vance’s voice was low, carrying an unquestionable authority.

“Ethan Miller, get to the Dean’s office right now.”

“And bring your parents.”

Ethan had the phone on speaker.

I sat on the couch, taking a slow sip of my tea.

Here it came.

Ethan asked, “Dean Vance, what’s going on?”

“What’s going on? You have the nerve to ask!”

Vance let out a cold laugh.

“Chloe Jenkins is crying in my office right now! She claims you cornered her in the library’s north fire escape at noon and tried to harass her!”

Ethan sprang to his feet, going deathly pale.

“I’ve been at the hotel with my mom all afternoon! I don’t even know where the library is!”

“Save it! Her clothes are disheveled, and she says she was hurt.”

Vance’s tone grew harsh.

“This is a massive scandal! Get over here immediately! If this isn’t handled properly, you can forget about staying at this university!”

The call cut out.

Ethan held his phone, his hands shaking violently.

“Is she insane? We didn’t even touch her luggage!”

I set my teacup down, my eyes turning icy.

In the last life, she used the luggage as an excuse to frame Ethan.

In this life, I cut off that opportunity.

Yet she still managed to pull a “library fire escape” out of thin air.

It seemed she was hell-bent on destroying Ethan.

“Don’t be scared.”

I stood up and grabbed my purse.

“Let’s go. Mom’s going with you.”

When we pushed open the door to the Office of Student Affairs, the room was filled with the sound of quiet sobbing.

Chloe sat on the couch, the collar of her shirt torn halfway open, exposing her shoulder.

Dean Vance sat behind his desk, his face grim.

Seeing us walk in, Chloe began to cry even harder.

“Don’t come near me… stay away…”

She pointed at Ethan, trembling all over.

Ethan’s eyes burned with rage.

“Chloe, what lies are you spreading? I haven’t even been to the library today!”

Vance slammed his hand onto the desk.

“Ethan, you dare threaten the victim right in front of me?”

I stepped forward, shielding Ethan behind my back.

“Dean Vance, is it? The investigation hasn’t even started. Isn’t it a bit too early to label her the victim?”

Vance frowned at me.

“Are you Ethan’s mother?”

“Yes.”

“Is this how you raise your son? A National Merit Scholar? What good are top grades when his morals are completely bankrupt?”

Vance pointed at Chloe.

“This girl just came from a small rural town. She’s innocent. Your son terrified her so badly she can barely look people in the eye. How is she supposed to stay at this school?”

I pulled up a chair and sat right down.

“Dean Vance, since you’re so certain my son did it, where’s the evidence?”

Vance scoffed.

“Evidence? The marks on her body are the evidence! Her clothes are torn to shreds. Did she do that to herself?”

“Why couldn’t she?” I shot back.

Vance choked on his words, his face flushing with sudden fury.

“What kind of attitude is that? Is this how you parent? Defending a monster. No wonder your son turned out like this!”

Right then, the office door was violently pushed open.
