I Saw Comments Saying I Would Die Alone After the Fourth Divorce Chapter 10

Audrey clicked into the shop in stilettos. “Hey, counter girl. Got a second?”

I wiped a smear of cream off my cheek and gave her a flat look.

Audrey smiled.

“Calling you Mrs. Vance in here felt weird. You don’t mind, do you?”

I didn’t take the bait. “What do you want?”

“My boss wants a chocolate tart. Right now. I’ll pay triple for a rush order.”

Her boss was Julian.

She caught my expression and slipped on a tiny, regretful smile.

“Usually, he prefers mine. But we’re heading out of town for a business trip today, so I won’t have time.” She shrugged. “That makes you the backup.”

The order was just a prop. I saw right through it – she hadn’t come here for a chocolate tart.

The first message was clear. Julian liked her food better than mine – she’d been feeding him behind my back. The second was worse. She would have my husband to herself all day, and there was nothing I could do about it.

[This is why she’s the FL – using a dessert order to mark her territory. The villainess must be SEETHING right now!]

[This just proves the ML could never like the villainess. He takes the FL everywhere – they’re basically in their own little world!]

[Wait, did we get the timeline wrong? Is TONIGHT actually the night the ML and FL finally… you

know?]

I looked at her smug little face and almost laughed. “My schedule’s full. Can’t help you.”

“Not enough?” Audrey didn’t even blink. “Ten times the price, then.” She said it like she was doing

me a favor.

Was she playing rich wife with my husband’s money?

I smiled. It was the kind of smile that showed teeth.

“Sweetheart, we’re reservation-only. There’s a sign right on the door – all orders require at least three days.”

The timing was perfect – one of my staff walked in just then carrying an empty catering box with the Thorne Corporation logo stamped on it. I tilted my head toward it and let my gaze drift back to Audrey.

“Now, rush orders aren’t completely off the table. See that? Thorne Corporation. I squeezed that

one in. But the CEO himself called – or his wife did. That’s the level of client who gets to cut the line.”

“So if you were someone like that – a CEO, a CEO’s wife – absolutely, I’d make it work. But you?” I

looked her up and down. “You’re a secretary. If Julian really wants that tart, he can call me himself. You don’t have the pull to make requests in my shop.”

“I was trying to be nice about it, but since you’re not taking the hint…” I gave her my most

apologetic shrug.
