I Raised His 99 Children to Save My Son Chapter 06

I Raised His 99 Children to Save My Son Chapter 06

She did nothing but silently guard that empty house and the child in her womb.

Later, he brought home the first bastard child and dumped the infant in her arms and walked away.

She didn’t refuse. She raised that child like her own. Tender. Patient. Without a single word of

complaint.

He knew. Even then, he knew she was desperate for cord blood. Desperate to save the son she was

about to bring into this world.

But he forgot the moment he turned his back. Chasing his next conquest was all that mattered.

Then came the second child. The third. More and more illegitimate sons and daughters piled up at

her feet. So he did the logical thing-he established Steele Academy Preschool. Dumped every last

mess onto her shoulders, turning her into the laughingstock of Westshire City.

Everyone mocked her as obsessed, pathetically loyal, willing to be the dumping ground for Kian

Steele’s bastards.

Only now did he understand. She didn’t endure all that humiliation for him.

She did it for her sick son. For that one fragile thread of hope.

Seven years. She ran that massive preschool by herself. Cared for nearly a hundred children who weren’t hers. Never complained. Never shirked.

Even when those children mocked her-coached by their birth mothers to treat her like a servant-

she never lifted a finger against them. Only gentleness. Always gentleness.

All she ever wanted was cord blood. That was it. Nothing more.

And him?

He’d toyed with her and dangled hope in front of her face and snatched it away.

He’d trampled her humility and begging under his feet and crushed every last prayer she had for

her son.

Kian’s thoughts lurched to the boy. The son he’d barely cared about.

The doctors told him early on. The boy’s blood disease was completely curable, if they found

matching cord blood in time and treated him properly. It wasn’t a death sentence.

He’d believed them. He always assumed the boy could wait. Just like Helena waited for him.

Wait until he was done playing. Wait until he settled down.

Then he’d be a good father, a good husband, and love them both.

But reality delivered a fatal blow.

His son was gone. Gone forever.

Helena had thrown herself into the sea. Vanished.

He’d destroyed his own family with his bare hands. Lost the only person who’d ever truly loved him.

Kian felt his heart hollow, ripped open, and his soul torn out, leaving nothing but endless regret and terror.

He couldn’t contain it anymore. The panic. The agony.

He burst into the hallway. “Doctors! My son’s medical team! Get them out here! Now!”

Within seconds, the entire treatment team scrambled into the hall. Heads down. Barely breathing.

Kian lunged. He seized the lead physician by the throat.

“You told me it wasn’t fatal! You said he could be cured! Then why is he dead?! Why did my son leave me?!”

The doctor gasped for air, face purple. Words stumbled out in fragments.

“Mr. Steele… what I said was…. if we found matching cord blood in time… with proper treatment… it wouldn’t be fatal. But this disease… the longer the delay… the more aggressive it becomes. In the end… there was nothing we could do.”

“Nothing you could do?”

Kian’s grip loosened. The words barely a whisper.

Then his eyes snapped back into focus. He grabbed the doctor again.

“And when he was dying? Why did no one tell me?! What the hell do I pay you for?!”

“We sent our people to inform you immediately. Your son… he pressed the emergency alert, the one connected to Mrs. Steele, over and over.”
