I Only Wanted Luxury Shopping, and Accidentally Saved the Whole Family Chapter 08

Ezra shot to his feet, his eyes bloodshot as he glared at Asher.

If Veronica hadn’t held him back with all her strength, his fist would have already smashed into Asher’s hypocritical face.

“Go call her,” Conrad repeated. His voice carried a certain finality.

Jarvis wiped away his tears and walked toward the stairs.

Watching this unfold, an indescribable feeling welled up inside me.

For the past three years, everyone in this family had looked down on me, seeing me as an embarrassment to a dynasty full of elite high-achievers.

But now, with everything on the line, the first thing they thought was to use their last remaining card to secure my exit and keep me safe.

I took a deep breath, turned back to my room, and walked up to the massive marble bar.

I turned on the custom Italian coffee machine. The grinding of the beans sounded somewhat harsh in the quiet room.

I took my time brewing a cup of hand-ground coffee, letting the rich aroma fill the air.

Picking up the delicate coffee cup, I stepped into my high heels and walked downstairs, one step at a time.

Jarvis was halfway up the stairs when he froze upon seeing me. “Mrs. Kensington…”

I passed right by him and walked straight into the living room.

Every eye in the room turned toward me.

I wore a multi-million-dollar silk robe, my long hair pulled back loosely, and held a steaming cup of coffee—looking entirely out of place in the living room’s suffocating, desperate atmosphere.

Asher’s eyes lit up the moment he saw me, his gaze sweeping over me with uninhibited boldness.

“The youngest Mrs. Kensington certainly lives up to her reputation,” he said, standing up and offering a slight bow in a mock display of chivalry. “Still in the mood for coffee at a time like this. Such composure puts these career women to shame.”

I ignored him completely, walked up to the couch, and looked down at the spot where he had just been sitting.

My brow furrowed slightly. “Which country bumpkin left dirt on my couch?”

My voice wasn’t loud, but in the silent living room, every word reached everyone’s ears crystal clear.

The smile on Asher’s face froze instantly. A flash of malice crossed his eyes, though he quickly masked it behind his polite facade.

“You certainly have a sense of humor, Mrs. Kensington.”
