I Got A Thanks You Card While She Got His Pink Diamond Chapter 07

The bridal suite was in complete chaos.

Ethan had people search every inch of the dressing room.

Sienna kept crying until her voice turned hoarse.

“Ethan, I really didn’t take them. Why does Leah insist on blaming me?”

In the past, Ethan would have softened the moment she cried like that.

Today, he simply stood in front of the vanity and stared at her coldly.

“I’m going to ask you one last time. Where are the earrings?”

Sienna’s tears stopped for a moment.

Noah frowned.

“Ethan, don’t scare her. You know how easily frightened she is.”

Ethan suddenly laughed.

“She’s easily frightened?”

He grabbed the wedding binder from the table and hurled it into Noah’s chest.

“If she’s so timid, how did she have the nerve to make Leah’s wedding all about herself?”

“If she’s so timid, how did she have the nerve to wear Leah’s mother’s keepsake for a video shoot?”

“If she’s so timid, how did she have the nerve to make Leah apologize to her in the bridal suite?”

The impact made Noah stumble back half a step, his expression darkening.

“Didn’t you approve all of that?”

The question pinned Ethan in place.

Yes.

He had approved all of it.

He had changed the wedding plans, brought Sienna the earrings, and signed off on the rigged raffle.

He had always believed none of it mattered.

Leah would put up with it. She would pretend it was no big deal and move on.

But he had forgotten that no one can keep pretending everything is fine forever.

Eventually, something breaks, and they walk away for good.

Just then, a hotel housekeeper hurried into the room.

“Mr. Caldwell, we found them.”

She held a clear sealed bag in her hands.

Inside was the pair of pearl earrings.

Ethan reached for them, but his fingers were trembling badly.

The housekeeper spoke quietly.

“They were found in an inner compartment of Ms. Hart’s makeup bag.”

The bridal suite went completely silent.

All the color drained from Sienna’s face,

“It wasn’t me. I don’t know how they got in there…”

Ethan looked at her.

His gaze was so cold that Sienna even forgot to cry.

Noah went rigid too.

It was as though he had finally realized whom he had been defending.

Sienna lunged forward and grabbed Ethan’s sleeve.

“Ethan, I was only afraid Leah didn’t like me. I wanted her to back down just once. I didn’t mean for

them to actually go missing. I only wanted to scare her…”

Ethan flung her hand away.

“Scare her?”

His voice was so hoarse it barely sounded like him.

“Those were the earrings her mother left her.”

Sienna fell to the floor and crawled toward him, sobbing.

“I was wrong, Ethan. I’m so sorry.”

Ethan didn’t look at her.

He simply clenched the earrings in his hand as the image of me standing in the bridal suite the night before replayed in his mind.

Only now did he understand that when I had said “Fine,” I had been saying goodbye.

Noah suddenly turned toward the door.

Ethan grabbed him.

“Where are you going?”

Noah’s eyes were terrifyingly red.

“To find her.”

Ethan stared at him.

“What right do you have to go after her?”

Noah laughed, but tears fell from his eyes.

“Because I owe her too.”

“I’ve owed her for years.”

He tore himself free from Ethan’s grip and stumbled out of the room.

Ethan remained where he was.

The pearls in his hand were cold, like two tears that had come far too late.
