I Froze the Shares Before He Could Give Them Away Chapter 07

I Froze the Shares Before He Could Give Them Away Chapter 07

Arthur gave a bitter smile.

“Because she’s also planning to let me take the blame.”

When interests are at stake, the cracks open by themselves.

I rolled up the window.

My wedding ring was stuck on my finger, suddenly feeling a bit painful.

I took it off and put it in the glove compartment.

In my last life, I couldn’t bear to take it off even at death.

In this life, it was just one of the pieces of evidence for tomorrow.

On the day of the extraordinary shareholders’ meeting, the Vance conference hall was fuller than the annual meeting.

Richard sat in the center seat, and Chloe sat in the gallery holding Leo. Beatrice had specifically

worn a dark vintage Chanel suit, leaning on her cane as if she were there to preside over a family

trial.

The DNA report from Chloe’s livestream was already displayed on the large screen.

When Richard saw me walk in, his gaze was icy.

“Eleanor, today, in front of all the shareholders and the media, you make things clear.”

Beatrice followed up: “She doesn’t just need to make things clear; she needs to apologize. To Leo, and to the Vance family.”

Chloe lowered her head to wipe away tears.

“I don’t need an apology from Mrs. Sterling. As long as she doesn’t hurt Leo anymore.”

She said it so beautifully.

So beautifully that Leo, sitting in her arms, looked like a meticulously placed pawn.

I walked to my seat but didn’t sit down.

“Let’s talk about the equity first.”

Richard raised his hand.

Arthur Brooks stood up, his face gray.

He opened the report.

“After a financial audit, the 12% stake in Eleanor Sterling’s name is a result of post-marital joint

management. Vance Enterprises has the right to arrange the gift to Leo Vance based on the family agreement and board resolution.”

When he said the word “audit,” his voice cracked slightly.

I looked at him.

Arthur didn’t look at me.

Richard satisfactorily pushed the Deed of Gift to the center of the table.

“Sign.”

That fountain pen was placed in front of me once again.

Just like in my last life.

The cap was off, the paper was snow-white, and everyone was waiting for me to bow my ノ

head.

I reached out and picked up the pen.

Beatrice revealed a triumphant smile.

Chloe hugged the child tight, her eyes fixed on the screen.

Richard said, “Eleanor, don’t make this any more awkward for everyone.”

I pressed the nib of the pen into the signature block.

Then, I slowly drew a horizontal line through it.

Not my name.

An “annulment” strike.

The conference hall erupted into an uproar.

Richard stood up abruptly.

“Eleanor!”

I put the pen down.

“Now, let’s talk about the DNA test.”

Chloe’s expression changed.

Beatrice shouted angrily, “The DNA test results are already out! How much longer are you going to

humiliate this child?”

I looked at Chloe.

“During your livestream, you said the samples were provided by Richard Vance and Leo Vance personally. Is that correct?”

Chloe bit her lip.

“Yes.”

“Who collected the samples?”

“Staff from the agency.”

“Where?”

“The hospital.”

“Which hospital?”

She paused for a second.

Richard frowned.

“Eleanor, are you interrogating a criminal?”

I ignored him and kept my eyes on Chloe.

Chloe quickly regained her composure.

“I was too panicked at the time; I don’t remember clearly. Mr. Brooks arranged it.”

Arthur looked up sharply.

I smiled.

“How coincidental. The equity source was arranged by Arthur, and the DNA test was also arranged by Arthur. Chloe, were you all planning to let him go to prison alone for everyone else?”

Every bit of color drained from Arthur’s face.

Richard’s gaze turned cold.

“What nonsense are you talking about?”

I raised my hand.

The back door of the conference hall opened.

Margaret Thorne walked in, followed by a notary and two investigators.
