I Found Out I Was the Real Daughter Before the SAT So I Tanked It Chapter 10

She covered her face and fell to the floor, completely stunned. “Dad! What happened?”

Only then did the pain hit her, and she burst into loud sobs. “Mom! Mom, help me!”

Mom rushed in, and when she saw the photos on the phone, her expression went cold.

Willa followed her gaze and finally understood why she had been hit.

“Mom, Dad, listen to me…”

She covered her face as tears poured down. “I didn’t mean to! I was scared you wouldn’t want me anymore. Mom said that as long as I made sure Annalise studied hard, I would be the real heiress. was scared…”

Mom collapsed to the floor, crying so hard she could barely breathe.

I sat in the kitchen eating an apple. I heard the commotion upstairs, but I didn’t move.

Willa was dragged downstairs and forced to kneel in front of me. She clutched my pant leg. “Annalise, please forgive me. Please beg Mom and Dad for me. I really know I was wrong… When I said nothing, a flash of malice crossed her eyes, and her tone abruptly changed.

“You’re the real heiress of this family. Mom and Dad lied to you on purpose for ten years.”

“Annalise, everything I did was just to go along with Mom and Dad and keep you studying hard.”

“Shut your mouth!” Dad roared, his face flushed red.

Willa shrank back and didn’t dare say another word.

But the truth about the real and fake heiresses had finally been dragged into the

open.

Mom rushed over and hugged me. “Annalise, I’m sorry. I didn’t know she did those things to you. I was wrong…”

I didn’t push her away, but I didn’t hug her back either.

“You should go comfort Willa instead. She scored an 840. She needs it more.

Mom froze.

Over the next few days, the house changed completely.

Mom made me breakfast every morning. Dad transferred $100,000 into my account and bought a full set of professional skateboarding gear for my room.

Willa was locked inside the house, forbidden to go out. Her phone was confiscated, and her allowance was cut off.

I accepted every attempt they made to please me.

I rode my skateboard as much as I wanted and met many friends who loved the same things I did.

I transferred the money into savings.

I took one bite of breakfast and set it down. “I’m full.”

With red eyes, Mom asked, “Does it taste bad? I can make something else tomorrow.”

“No need. You never made breakfast for me before anyway.”

Her tears fell.

On the fifth day after the truth came out, Willa went on a hunger strike at home and threatened to jump from the roof.

Dad called a car and had her sent straight to her biological parents.

They were an ordinary working-class family on the edge of town, living in a cramped two-bedroom apartment with old newspapers still papering the walls.

Willa stood at the door, crying and refusing to go in.

Dad didn’t look back.
