I Forgot My Alpha. Now He’s Obsessed. Chapter 03

Jaxson narrowed his eyes, about to speak.

Ava stood on the spiral staircase, a look of pure contempt flashing across her face.

“Florence, are you out of your mind?”

“Everyone in the Northern Territories knows Alpha Alistair doesn’t keep she-wolves around.”

“I heard he doesn’t even tolerate a single female hair in his pack house.”

“Besides, the Grey Crown Pack is currently negotiating a major partnership with the Thorne Pack. If he had a mate, we would have known.”

I clenched my fists, wanting to explain, when I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my lower abdomen.

My pup…

I glanced at the unguarded front door and bolted.

“Florence, where do you think you’re going?”

Ava rushed down the stairs, throwing her arms around me.

I had reached my limit. I bit down on her hand, until I tasted blood.

She screamed, stumbling backward, and crashed hard onto the floor.

“Jaxson, my hand! It hurts so much!”

The concern in Jaxson’s eyes as he looked at her vanished the instant he turned to me, replaced by a freezing rage.

“Florence, have you lost your mind!”

Slap!

A brutal blow struck my face.

My vision went pitch black, and a loud ringing filled my ears.

I instinctively reached out to my Inner Wolf, but she could only muster a tiny fraction of her power to keep me from blacking out.

The dark magic curse from a year ago had left her too severely damaged.

Before I could recover, Jaxson dragged me over to Ava and kicked the back of my knees.

“Kneel and apologize to Ava.”

“How dare you hurt my mom! I’ll beat you to death!”

The pup ran over, throwing a toy car directly at my head.

The wound on my forehead tore open again, and blood began to stream down my face.

My wolf and I fought to stand, but someone shoved me hard from behind.

My stomach slammed violently against the stone steps.

An agonizing pain tore through my entire body like wildfire. I felt warm blood trickling down my thigh.

Tears finally spilled over. “My baby… please, take me to the hospital…”

I tried to push myself up, but a wave of dizziness washed over me, and I collapsed into darkness.

When I finally opened my eyes, the sharp scent of disinfectant filled my nose.

Muffled voices drifted from nearby. “Pregnant? Amnesia? What the hell does that mean!”

“Alpha Jaxson, this is dissociative amnesia. It’s a psychological defense mechanism triggered by extreme trauma.”

Jaxson’s voice was thick with suppressed irritation.

“She has food, clothes, and protection here. What trauma could she possibly have?”

The healer sighed. “Luna Florence has severe scars caused by silver restraints, trace amounts of unknown toxins in her blood, and she was clearly cursed by dark magic.”

“Her mind shattered under the pressure. To survive, she chose to forget everything.”

Jaxson went silent for a few seconds. When he spoke again, his voice was incredibly hoarse.

“I’ll look into it…”

“But the child in her womb cannot stay. I will not raise another man’s pup.”

I opened my eyes in sheer terror. I wanted to move, but my body felt completely paralyzed.

They wanted to kill my baby!

A nurse walked over, inserting a needle into my IV line.

Jaxson stood by my bedside, his eyes bloodshot.

With the last ounce of my strength, I reached out and grabbed the edge of his jacket. “No…”

He raised his hand, covering my eyes, shutting out the light.

I slowly drifted back into unconsciousness.

When I woke up again, I was back at the Grey Crown estate.

I was bound tightly to a reinforced steel chair, with a metal headpiece secured around my temples.

“Florence, you’re finally awake.”

Ava knelt in front of me, a malicious, triumphant smile stretching across her face.

“I just heard about your amnesia from Jaxson.”

“But don’t worry. We’re going to help you remember everything very soon.”

I felt a hollow, aching emptiness in my abdomen.

The realization hit me, and I broke down, sobbing hysterically.

Jaxson’s eyes were red. He knelt beside me and gently kissed the tears from my cheeks.

“The healer said that after ninety-nine rounds of electroshock therapy, you’ll remember everything.”

“Once you do, I won’t spare a single person who hurt you.”

“As for that child, I won’t hold it against you anymore.”

My body shook violently as I shook my head in terror.

“No, please… I really don’t know you. I beg of you…”

“Do it,” Jaxson ordered, standing up and turning away.

A button was pressed.

The electrical current shot through my veins like liquid fire, exploding from my fingertips straight into my vital organs.

Every spasm felt as though my bones were being crushed to powder. I screamed, my voice cracking into agonizing shrieks.

Blood began to leak from the corners of my mouth. My vision went dark, leaving nothing but an endless, tearing pain.

And then, the barrier in my mind shattered completely.

Tears fell silently down my face as I whispered, “I remember…”

I remembered every single second of the eight years of agony.
