I Forgot My Alpha. Now He’s Obsessed. Chapter 01

After a year of amnesia caused by a dark magic curse, I finally found my True Mate.

I was on my way to Crescent Pack Hospital in the city center for a prenatal checkup when a young pup blocked my path.

He frowned, his tone icy.

“Dad wants you to come home. Haven’t you caused enough trouble already?”

I found it almost amusing. I knelt down and gently patted his head.

“Kid, you must have mistaken me for someone else.”

He dodged my hand and said impatiently.

“Stop pretending. At worst, I’ll allow you to lull me to sleep from now on.”

Though irritated, I decided to escort him home for his own safety.

Outside the gates of the Grey Crown Pack House, a tall, stern-faced man with dark curly hair was waiting.

When his eyes fell on me, his expression shifted, but his voice remained dripping with contempt.

“Florence, you finally decided to come back?”

He grabbed my wrist, attempting to drag me across the pack boundary line.

I wrenched myself free and quickly dialed my mate’s number.

“Sweetheart, I think I’ve run into a crazy family!”

Before he could answer, the man slapped the phone out of my hand. It shattered against the cobblestone path, pieces scattering everywhere.

The man’s brows furrowed, barely containing his rising anger. “Florence, stop playing dumb.”

“It was just three years in Shadowpine Prison instead of Ava. It’s not like you were tortured.”

“But the moment you got out, you ran off and went into hiding, leaving Ava to drown in guilt for an entire year!”

“When you see her, you will apologize properly.”

For some reason, his words and the scent clinging to him sent a sudden, sharp pain straight through my chest.

My Inner Wolf reacted instantly, scratching violently at my heart as if trying to break free.

I bent down to pick up my phone, my hands shaking uncontrollably.

“You have the wrong person. I don’t know you!”

I turned to run, but he grabbed my wrist again, pulling me into his chest.

At this distance, the impatience in his eyes was blinding.

“Florence, years of isolation clearly didn’t teach you a lesson. No one is buying this act!”

My heart felt as if it were being torn in half. I held my breath, gripped by a primal terror. I opened my mouth, but not a single word came out.

Then, a woman stepped out of the house.

She wore a form-fitting lace nightgown. Peeking out from behind the man, she gasped.

“Florence, you’re back!”

“Where have you been this past year? How could you just abandon your son and your mate?”

“Jaxson was wrong back then, but I’ve already lectured him for you…”

Jaxson. The name sounded incredibly familiar.

But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t remember who he was.

“Don’t touch me!”

I instinctively slapped her reaching hand away.

She let out a sharp cry of pain and collapsed onto the ground.

“I don’t know any of you! I want to go home, I want to find my—”

Before I could finish, a sharp pain exploded across my forehead.

Warm blood began to trickle down my temple.

The young pup stood nearby, holding another rock.

“Bad woman! You’re not allowed to bully my mom!”

Jaxson cast a worried glance at me, but he quickly knelt to scoop Ava up in his arms.

Ava struggled to break free, her eyes red as she reached out to grab my hand.

“Florence, don’t blame Mike. He’s been raised by my side these past few years. He forgot that you’re his real mother.”

She insisted on dragging me inside the Pack House.

When she saw how slowly my forehead wound was healing, she gasped in shock.

“Why is your Inner Wolf so weak? You must have suffered so much this past year.”

I couldn’t detect a single ounce of genuine sympathy in her voice.

She pulled out some iodine and gauze to bandage my head.

“You have no idea how hard Jaxson searched for you…”

I remained silent, my eyes drifting to the wall.

It was covered in vacation photos.

The pictures showed two adults and a child, holding hands through the changing seasons.

The dates on the photos ran continuously from January to December of last year.

I curled my lip and pointed at the pup who was still glaring at me.

“If you say I’m his mother, then who are you?”

“I…” Ava’s face flushed as she shot a quick look at Jaxson.

Jaxson frowned, his voice cold and harsh. “Ava is your sister-in-law. Why are you asking stupid questions?”

“While you were locked away, Ava took care of me and my son. You should be thanking her.”

I almost laughed out loud. I turned my gaze back to Jaxson.

“You say I’m your mate. Let me ask you this.”

“Why did I have to go to prison to take the blame for her?”

He froze, his voice rising defensively.

“Ava is weak. She never would have survived that place. How could you even compare yourself to her?”

I stood up, taking a step toward him with every word.

“Then what is my favorite flower? What size dress do I wear? What is my wolf’s name?”

He took a step back, his face turning pale. His lips parted, but no sound came out.

I delivered my final question, pausing after every word.

“And tell me, Alpha Jaxson, when is my birthday?”

Jaxson went entirely silent. He clenched his fists, then suddenly roared, “Enough! Stop making a scene!”

I let out a cold laugh. I raised my left hand, displaying the thick, ornate mate ring on my finger.

“I’m sorry, Alpha Jaxson. I don’t know what kind of delusion you’re suffering from, but I truly do not know you.”

“I already have a mate. And he is waiting for me to go home.”

“As for the physical assault and psychological trauma you’ve caused today, my lawyer will be in touch.”
