I Faked My Death to Escape the Mafia Don After My Daughter Died Chapter 21

Vittorio froze.

His heart softened again.

It was his fault.

He had failed to protect Giovanna.

How could he blame her?

There was still so much time ahead.

One day, Giovanna would soften.

One day, she would forgive him.

The more Vittorio thought this, the softer his heart became.

He even wanted to walk into the room right then and unlock the chains around her.

Until he saw Giovanna reach out and obsessively tear apart the photo, ripping the part with

him into pieces.

The tenderness in Vittorio’s eyes cracked.

“Do you hate me that much?”

Giovanna’s voice was flat.

“Yes.”

The word fell like a blade.

Vittorio laughed softly, but his eyes were red.

“It’s okay. Hate is fine too. At least you still feel something for me.”

Giovanna looked at him with pity.

“Vittorio Rizzuto, you really are pathetic.”

Vittorio’s face went pale.

He suddenly leaned close, wanting to kiss her.

Giovanna’s expression turned sharp, and she bit him hard without hesitation.

Blood filled both their mouths.

Vittorio paused.

But instead of stopping, he seemed even happier.

He reached toward her clothes.

“Wife, do you know how much I missed you? At first, I really thought you were dead. I couldn’t

sleep night after night. I had already decided to follow you.”

“And you? You ran away and lived freely, leaving me in this much pain. You should pay a little

price, shouldn’t you?”

Giovanna wanted to struggle, but the chains were too short.

No matter how hard she tried, she could not lift her hand to slap him.

The feeling of being trapped made her remember the night before her fake death.

Disgusting breaths.

Sticky, vile movements.

Her stomach churned.

She turned her head away from Vittorio’s kiss and kept dry-heaving.

Disgusting.

So disgusting.

Vittorio was just as disgusting as those kidnappers.

Vittorio froze, hurt flashing through his eyes.

“You hate me this much? Being close to me disgusts you that badly?”

He thought Giovanna had a physical reaction because she hated him too much.

But soon, he realized something was wrong.

Her face was too pale.

Her breathing was too uneven.

He hurriedly called for a doctor.

After the examination, the doctor said carefully, “Signora Padrona’s physical condition is very poor. She has severe trauma responses. She can’t be forced into any intimate contact.”

Vittorio stood frozen in place.

Trauma response.

Forced intimate contact.

Those words tore open the thing he had been avoiding.

He finally remembered what he had done.

He had traded her to his enemy.

He had personally pushed her into hell.

For the first time, Vittorio truly did not dare touch her again.

He stood by the bed for a long time before saying hoarsely, “I’m sorry.”

Giovanna turned her face away and did not look at him.
