I Became the Villainess So I Struck First Chapter 09

I stared at her.

“You want proof?”

“Fine.”

I turned to the thin, tall man with the broken leg.

He clutched his leg, screaming, with no one daring to approach.

I walked over and knelt in front of him.

“What’s your name?”

“J-Jake…”

“Jake, do you hate me?”

He glared at me, hatred burning in his eyes.

“You broke my leg! Of course I hate you!”

I nodded.

“Then I’ll give you a chance for revenge.”

I stood and pointed at Elena.

“Touch her.”

Jake froze.

“What?”

“Touch her. Press her hand to your forehead.”

He glanced between me and Elena, utterly confused.

Elena’s face drained of blood.

“No… don’t…”

At the sight, I knew I’d won my bet.

i couldn’t help but laugh, “See? She’s terrified.”

“Why?”

“Because she can’t control her ability.”

“The second you touch her, her plunder power activates automatically. Your ability was just a gift

for her.”

Jake’s face paled too.

Elena scrambled backward desperately.

“No… it’s not true… don’t listen to her lies…”

I looked down at her.

“Then prove it.”

“Let him touch you.”

“If nothing happens, I’ll kill myself right here.”

Elena opened her mouth, but no sound came out.

The crowd fell completely silent.

Everyone stared at her.

The same people who’d praised her as kind, gentle, an angel.

The same people who’d looked at me with contempt for speaking against her.

All watching.

Elena’s face shifted from white to red, then to a sickly green.

And then-

She smiled.

A cold, sinister smile.

“Lila, you’re good.”

She stood slowly, her broken arm hanging limp, blood still dripping, yet she acted as if she felt no

pain.

“I’ve hidden this for so long, and you exposed me in one day.”

She fixed her gaze on me, eyes blazing with hatred.

“Do you know how hard I fought to survive?”

“Do you know how much I sacrificed?”

“So what if I stole abilities? In this damned apocalypse, who doesn’t do whatever it takes to live?”

She took a step forward.

“You think you’ve won?”

“You think exposing me means you can kill me?”

“Let me tell you—”

Blinding light erupted from her body.

Not just ice-blue.

Red, gold, green… every color tangled together, stinging everyone’s eyes.

The crowd screamed and backed away.

“She… she has so many abilities!”

“How many people did she steal from?!”

Elena stood in the center of the light, laughing maniacally.

“Seventeen people! I stole from seventeen!”

“You worthless trash-your abilities only reach their full potential with me!”

She raised her right hand, flames coiling in her palm-

Fire ability.

At the stump of her left arm, ice spikes materialized-

ice ability.

Beneath her feet, the ground trembled-

Earth ability.

She looked like a monster, wrapped in the glow of countless stolen powers.

“Lila!” she shrieked, staring at me. “You think exposing me makes you the winner? I’ll kill you right now!”

She lunged at me.

I didn’t move.

I lifted my hand.

Spatial shredding.

Crack-

Her right leg snapped.

She screamed and collapsed, the light around her dimming drastically.

“You… you…”

I walked over.

And pressed my boot hard into her face.

“Seventeen abilities. Impressive?”

She thrashed, trying to unleash her powers, but my boot pinned her down, immobile.

“You’re not fast enough. Not cruel enough. How could you ever beat me?”

She lay on the ground, soaked in blood, like a dying dog.

The crowd watched, no sympathy left-only disgust and contempt, pointing and muttering.

I reached into my spatial dimension and pulled out a bottle of water, clear and shimmering softly.

A gasp rippled through the crowd.

“What is that?!”

“Water! Clean water!”

I held up the spring water.

“My name is Lila.”

“I awakened a spatial ability.”

“The spiritual spring in my space quenches thirst, heals wounds, and keeps you alive longer.”

The crowd erupted.

“Spiritual spring?!”

“Is that real?!”

I held the bottle higher, “Who wants a drink?”

The crowd surged forward.

“Wait-”

I lifted a hand.

Everyone froze.

I pointed at Elena, crumpled on the ground.

“One punch to her, one sip.”

“One kick to her, one bowl.”

“Who beats her to death-”

| I paused.

“Gets an entire bucket.”

The world went still for a heartbeat.

The next second-

The first person charged.

it was Jake, the man with the broken leg. He hopped forward on one leg and slammed his fist into

Elena’s face.

“This is for my leg!”

Elena screamed.

The second person rushed over.

It was Luna. She kicked Elena hard.

“This is for my ice ability!”

Third, fourth, fifth…

The crowd went mad.

Fists and feet rained down on Elena.

Her screams grew weaker and weaker.

I stood to the side, pulling out bottle after bottle of water.

Those who finished beating her came to claim their drink, gulping it down, their eyes lighting up.

“It really is spiritual spring water!”

“So refreshing!”

“I want to punch her again!”

They charged back.

Elena’s cries faded until they vanished entirely.

The crowd scattered.

She lay on the ground, unrecognizable.

Covered in blood, broken bones everywhere-left arm snapped, right leg shattered, face swollen beyond recognition.

Her eyes were still open.

Staring at me.

Her lips moved, trying to speak.

I couldn’t hear.

I walked over and knelt down.

Leaning close to her mouth.

“…you… think… you… won…”

I stared at her.

“Yes.”

“I won.”

The light in her eyes dimmed slowly.

She went still.

Dead.

Just like that?

I stood, looking down at her.

The heroine of a transmigration novel, the one who killed me in my last life-dead?

Beaten to death by ordinary people?

It was that easy?

Before I could process it, the roar of engines echoed from the entrance.

Derek had arrived with a new convoy.

He jumped out of the vehicle and strode in, his gaze sweeping the crowd before landing on Elena’s

body.

He froze.

“What… what happened here?”

The crowd fell silent, all eyes on me.

Derek’s gaze locked onto mine too, “What’s going on?”

I tilted my head and said suddenly, “Did you like her?”
