His Son, Her Photo, My Turn Chapter 16

His Son, Her Photo, My Turn Chapter 16

After a long silence, Valerie finally instructed the housekeeper to let Jonathan inside.

He was soaked to the bone, dripping puddles all over the floor the moment he stepped through the

door

towel,

With a look of pure disgust, Valerie called a maid over to mop the floor and tossed Jonathan a towel, having absolutely no intention of offering him a hot shower or a change of clothes.

“I recall I still have a few outfits left here. I wonder if I could use a bathroom to clean up and change?”

“I threw those clothes away a long time ago,” Valerie countered, shocked by his audacity. “Besides, I’m getting married in three days. Letting my ex shower here is a boundary I’m not crossing.”

Jonathan stood frozen, unable to move for a long time.

He remembered that she never used to be like this.

In the past, even a few drops of rain on him would send her into a state of absolute panic.

Yet now, her eyes held nothing but revulsion.

“I don’t understand what I did to make you despise me this much. Valerie, I already explained that what happened to Summer was an accident. Why must you be so heartless?”

“Jonathan, after everything, you’re actually still asking me that?”

Valerie laughed. “You were married to me, yet you had a child with another woman. You repeatedly hurt me for her sake, and now you have the nerve to tell me you don’t know what you did wrong? Summer’s mutilation might have been an accident, but you are the root cause of it. I will never forgive you, Jonathan!”

“So you had Gavin target me? Do you really hate me that much?”

“That’s because you once targeted me exactly the same way.”

“When?”

Jonathan had absolutely no idea what she was talking about.

When she first woke up, Valerie had also assumed everything from her coma was merely a dream.

But everything was playing out exactly as it had in that alternate reality.

First, she witnessed Jonathan sleeping with Lily, and then Lily gave birth to a son named Silas.

Every single detail lined up perfectly with her visions

She had no choice but to believe those experiences were real.

Whatever happened in that parallel timeline was bound to manifest in the real world.

That was precisely why she took the initiative to divorce Jonathan and marry Gavin, striving to alter her destiny.

The future had indeed changed-her parents were safe, and she was marrying Gavin.

Yet Summer had still lost an arm.

All of this was Jonathan’s fault, and she would absolutely make him pay.

“It doesn’t matter when. All you need to know is that the James Group will be completely destroyed within three days.”

“Someone show our guest out.”

“Why does it have to be like this, Valerie? If you’re still upset about Lily, I give you my word that I will never see her again for the rest of my life!”

“What about your child?”

“If you don’t like him, I can give him up too.”

Valerie had initially felt a flicker of hesitation about whether to completely crush him.

But his response left her utterly disgusted.

He was willing to discard his own flesh and blood without a second thought.

How could she ever expect a man like that to be genuinely devoted to her?

“Get out, and never show your face in front of me again!”

Over the next few days, the James Group suffered devastating blows.

Gavin mobilized every bit of capital and influence at his disposal, systematically poaching the

James Group’s core executives, freezing their cash flow, and hijacking their major contracts.

Within three short days, Jonathan was completely overwhelmed, but nothing he did could stop the

bleeding.

Watching his family legacy crumble before his eyes, he emptied his personal bank accounts and desperately scrambled for loans to keep the business afloat.

Unfortunately, the disparity in financial power and influence was too vast, leaving him absolutely no room for a comeback.

By dawn on the fourth day, the once thriving corporate headquarters was entirely deserted.

Only his assistant remained faithfully by his side.

“Mr. James, I never expected the mistress to be this heartless…”
