His Son, Her Photo, My Turn Chapter 08

“Look who it is! If it isn’t the homewrecker who ruined Valerie’s family!”

“To think you went to all this trouble for a cheap piece of trash, Jonathan. You really have zero

standards.”

“Where is she better than Valerie? Why would you treat her like this?”

“What did you say?” Jonathan grabbed the woman by the arm, a chilling glare in his eyes. “Did Valerie tell you to say that? Apologize to Lily right now!”

“Screw you, I’m not apologizing!” Clara slammed his hand away with utter disdain. “Get your hands off me. You disgust me.”

Someone pulled her back. “Clara, stop it. Do you want to end up like Summer?”

“I’m not afraid of him! You did that to Summer. Jonathan, mark my words, karma will catch up to you!” Overcome with rage, Clara raised her hand to slap him.

Lily darted forward, pushing Jonathan out of the way just in time to take the blow squarely across

her own face.

“Lily!” Jonathan gasped, turning his furious glare back to Clara. “Who gave you permission to strike her? Do you have a death wish?”

“What? Are you going to throw me into the hound facility too?” Clara locked eyes with him defiantly. “Jonathan, others might be terrified of you, but I’m not! You destroyed my two best friends. I won’t let you get away with this!”

“Clara, you keep accusing Jonathan of harming people,” Lily sneered, rubbing her cheek. “Exactly

what did he do to Miss Shaw? She was the one targeting me that night. Jonathan merely locked her up for a few days to defend me. Does that justify your pathetic little crusade?”

“I see how it is,” Lily mocked. “You wealthy socialites are so pampered that spending a couple of days in a kennel feels like an unforgivable tragedy.”

“You absolute bitch! How dare you!” Clara raised her hand again.

Jonathan intercepted her arm, his eyes flashing a lethal warning. “Clara! For Valerie’s sake, I’m letting this slide once. Try it again, and see what happens.”

“Scumbag!” Clara spat. “Jonathan, if it weren’t for Summer, the one who would’ve lost an arm to those damn dogs that day is Valerie!”

“You abandoned Valerie Vance-the woman who stood by you for over a decade-all for a piece of

trash like her. Ask yourself, is it really worth it?”

“What do you mean, lost an arm? What are you talking about?” Jonathan’s brows furrowed, genuine confusion cutting through his anger.

“Are you still going to play dumb?” Clara shook her head, her face twisted in absolute disappointment. “You are completely beyond saving.”

As the group turned to leave, Jonathan blocked their path. “Don’t move. Explain it to me! Who lost an arm?”

Lily realized things were spiraling out of control. If they kept talking, everything would be exposed. “Jonathan, let’s just ignore them, okay? It’s my birthday, and I haven’t even cut the cake yet!”,

Jonathan ignored her completely, keeping his eyes locked onto Clara. “Clara, you know what I’m capable of. Tell me right now, who lost an arm?”

“Summer! It was Summer!” Clara screamed, tears finally spilling over. “To save Valerie, her right arm was violently torn off by those damn dogs you kept there!”

“Jonathan, you are a monster! You gave Valerie the key, but the moment she tried to escape, you ordered your men to lock the main gates! You left her and Summer to fight off three starved wolves alone! If Summer hadn’t protected her, Valerie would be the one missing an arm right now!”

“You were married for ten years! How could you be so coldblooded?”

“What did you say?” Jonathan froze, his cold composure shattering into a daze. “That’s impossible. I ordered my men to let Valerie leave the second she opened the cage! I never gave an order to lock the gates!!!

“Well, your bodyguards explicitly stated it was your order!”
