His Love Letter Was Meant For Someone Else Chapter 07

I thought Elijah would be too ashamed to show his face after I called us out.

But I underestimated him. Once he found out we’d both been reborn, he had nothing to lose. He shamelessly started clinging to me nonstop.

He’d show up at my school to corner me every few days, and even tried to guilt-trip me with our past life relationship.

“Elena, don’t you remember? We had three kids together. They were all chubby and healthy, you raised them so well.

“Can you really bear to leave them? Can you really bear to throw our family away? Stop being stubborn, come home with me.”

The more Elijah rambled on about this, the angrier I got.

Yeah, I gave birth to three kids. But it was all forced on me!

My first was a girl. Elijah’s mother didn’t look happy, but she didn’t say anything outright.

When I had my second, I’d just gotten out of the delivery room. As soon as she saw it was

another girl, she turned right around and walked out.

She never showed her face once during my postpartum confinement, only sent someone to ask when I’d try for a third.

I’d only ever planned to have two kids. Her blatant preference for sons over daughters only made me even more determined not to give in.

The tension between his mother and me got worse and worse. Elijah saw everything, stepped up to stand with me against her pressure, and turned her down flat.

I was grateful. But not long after that, I accidentally got pregnant again.

Elijah talked me into keeping it, said it was fate. After thinking it over for a long time, I ended up keeping the baby.

With three kids to take care of, Elijah worked to support the family, and his mother used “being sick all over” as an excuse to refuse to help.

I was worn to a bone doing everything alone. Then one day I accidentally overheard Elijah’s

mother bragging to her relatives, “My son’s wife kept saying she wouldn’t have another! I just poked a few holes in the condoms. Then she got pregnant, she had no choice but to keep it!”

In an instant, I felt like I couldn’t breathe. I ran to confront Elijah, completely out of my mind.

But Elijah just brushed me off impatiently. “Mom’s old, she’s got a muddled head. As her daughter-in-law, just cut her some slack.”

His whole easy, smooth life in our past life-he got it entirely from me giving everything I had and swallowing every wrong.

How dare he bring any of this up in front of me now!

“Elijah, I regret it. I don’t want anything to do with you in this life. Stop pestering me. Do you understand me?”

Staring at the man trailing after me like a lost puppy, I’d finally had enough. I spun around and

spat the words out through my teeth.

Elijah’s face froze instantly. Just as he opened his mouth to beg me to stay, I lifted my hand and slapped him hard across the face, then screamed for help, “Help! Someone’s stalking

me!”

Passersby all stared at Elijah with disapproval. When his figure finally vanished around the corner, I let out the breath I’d been holding.
