His Love Letter Was Meant For Someone Else Chapter 06

His Love Letter Was Meant For Someone Else Chapter 06

Time flew by. By the time I got back, the SAT was already over.

All this time, Elijah had gotten my number from someone, and he texted me nonstop. All his messages were basically asking if I still wanted him, if he could come see me. It got annoying really fast, so I just blocked and deleted him again. After doing this a few times, he

finally stopped.

I dragged my suitcase back to my dorm, and I never expected to see a familiar figure loitering by the school gate. He just finished the SAT-why wasn’t he out having fun, what was he doing here?

I rolled my eyes internally, pulled my hat lower, and picked up my pace. As I brushed past him, Elijah’s eyes lit up and he grabbed my wrist hard.

“Elena, I finally found you! Do you know how long I’ve waited here every day? I even got sunburned…” he rambled on excitedly about how much he’d missed me, throwing in a little

pitiful act to get my sympathy.

I pulled my hand back, stepped back calmly to put some distance between us, and looked up

at him coldly.

I hadn’t seen him in a month. His face looked terrible, his eyes were heavy with exhaustion,

and he’d gotten noticeably thinner.

It was like my cold stare stung him. His smile slowly slipped off his face, but he forced

another one to talk to me, “Elena, are you doing okay? Why didn’t you tell me you got early

admission…”

I cut him off immediately, “None of your business. Stop coming looking for me.”

I turned to leave right after I finished.

After searching for me for so long and seeing me about to walk away, Elijah panicked. “Elena,

I’m sorry. I didn’t think about your feelings back then. But what about you? You promised we’d

apply to the same college too, right? We both messed up, can’t we just call it even?”

I actually laughed out of anger after hearing his shameless words. He still had the nerve to

say that?

“Yeah, right. I was supposed to just give up my future for Janet, right? Should I even be

praising you for selling yourself to get what your crush wants?”

All the color drained from Elijah’s face instantly. He stammered and couldn’t get a single word out. Even so, he still refused to give up, yanking hard on my suitcase and wouldn’t let

I took a deep breath, turned to him, and said slowly, word for word, “Elijah, you’re reborn too, aren’t you?”

The second the words left my mouth, shock exploded in Elijah’s eyes, and his grip on my

suitcase went limp immediately. I took the chance to walk away.

When I was far enough, I couldn’t help but stop and look back. Elijah was frozen stiff, like a lifeless statue, standing all alone in the middle of the sidewalk.

I sped up, and only let out a breath when I got back to my dorm. There was a cold stone

sitting in my chest, heavy and tight.

Actually, the second I looked at Elijah after being reborn, I could tell he was reborn too.

In my past life, I’d taken care of him for fifty years, and I’d loved him with all my heart for fifty

years.

How could I not recognize the look in his eyes?

He didn’t say anything, so I played along and pretended I didn’t know.

But just last life, he was standing by my hospital bed, telling me he’d marry me all over again

if he got another chance-then the second he opened his eyes again, all he cared about was

his darling first love.

At first, my chest ached so bad when I thought about it, but eventually I let it go.

Compared to my future, this little bit of bitterness didn’t even matter.

I never could have guessed that Elijah would get what he wanted, not appreciate it, and now

come crawling back to me acting like he was so in love with me.
