His Ex Wore My Ring, So I Married His Rival Instead Chapter 09

When Alexander and I stepped out of the hotel, the sky was unusually clear.

He held my hand and said softly, “Olivia, I’ve waited a long time for this day. From now on, treat you right for the rest of my life.”

I smiled and nodded. “I believe you.”

We got married that same day without a hitch.

The wedding took place at The Prescott Grand. Despite the short notice, it was a lavish affair

News of our marriage began trending online. The heiress to Bennett Financial Group had married the heir to Prescott Group, sending the internet into a frenzy.

Meanwhile, Brandon and his family were being held at the police station.

I heard the three of them caused quite a scene there.

Linda pointed a finger in Vanessa’s face. “Get an abortion right now! Without this baby, Brandon might still have a chance with Olivia! Once our family gets back on its feet, we’ll make it worth your

while!”

Vanessa gave a cold laugh. “You think you’re getting back on your feet? Linda, you’re dreaming. Olivia’s already married Alexander, and you still think she’ll take Brandon back?”

“I’m not having an abortion unless you give me $100,000!”

Linda trembled with anger. “A hundred thousand dollars? You might as well rob us!”

Katie chimed in, “Exactly! Vanessa, don’t push it! We wouldn’t be here if you hadn’t falsely accused Olivia!”

Vanessa glared at them bitterly. “I falsely accused her? Whose voices were on that recording? Now you’re turning on me and trying to make me get an abortion? That’s not happening!”

She stood up to leave.

But after only a couple of steps, she suddenly lost her balance and fell to the floor.

She clutched her stomach and screamed, “Something’s wrong with my baby!”

Blood ran from beneath the hem of her dress.

The officers immediately called an ambulance, but by the time she reached the hospital, the baby couldn’t be saved.

ying in the hospital bed, Vanessa stared at Linda.

“You did this! You killed my baby! You have to pay me!”

Linda shook her head frantically. “I didn’t do anything! I never touched you! You fell on your own!”

An officer standing nearby confirmed it. “The security footage shows there was no pushing, shoving, or heated exchange. It was an accident.”

Vanessa broke down at those words. She cried and cursed Linda, Katie, and Brandon.

But none of it changed anything.

Brandon was released a few days later. He went straight back to the company, expecting to return to

work.

At the entrance, though, his access card wouldn’t open the door.

“Sir, your access card has been deactivated,” the security guard said coldly. “Please leave.”

Brandon stared at him. “What? I’m a manager here! What gives you the right to deactivate my

card?”
