His Ex Wore My Ring, So I Married His Rival Instead Chapter 07

The lobby manager nodded quickly. “I’ve already started exporting the footage. Don’t worry. You won’t miss a single frame!”

Vanessa’s face went pale. “I didn’t make anything up. Olivia, say something! You pushed me. You

touched me!”

Alexander frowned. “Let’s watch the footage.”

That stopped her from saying anything more.

A moment later, though, she curled up and began to moan. “Brandon, my stomach really hurts! Can you take me to the hospital first? We can deal with everything else later.”

Brandon closed his eyes for a moment. “Vanessa, if you’re innocent, we should watch the footage. You’re not bleeding, and the ambulance will be here soon.”

Her expression froze.

Just then, my father’s assistant hurried back with a tablet. “Here’s the footage!”

Vanessa reached for it, but Alexander tapped the screen and started the video.

The footage showed that I hadn’t even touched her. She’d suddenly fallen backward as she

approached me.

Alexander paused the video, freezing it on the faint smile at the corner of Vanessa’s mouth.

Vanessa’s eyes instantly filled with tears. “Olivia scared me! I thought she was going to push me, so

I fell!”

Katie rushed over and slapped her across the face.

“Vanessa, I told you to come stop my brother’s wedding, not accuse Olivia of something she didn’t do! Now the Bennetts are going to come after us. What’s our family supposed to do?”

She turned to me with a wounded look. “You’re the one who’s supposed to be my sister-in-law.

Vanessa fooled me. That’s the only reason I treated you like that! Please don’t get the wrong idea

about me!”

“Really?” I let out a humorless laugh. “So spending my money on Vanessa’s wedding ring was a misunderstanding? And taking Brandon to her tent while I was nearly passing out from stomach

pain was another misunderstanding?”

She froze for a moment, then lifted her chin and shouted, “The baby might not even be my brother’s! Sure, he went into her tent, but who knows what really happened? Vanessa’s always playing the victim. How do we know she hasn’t been seeing other men?”

Vanessa stared at her in disbelief. “Katie, you were the one who said you didn’t want Olivias your sister-in-law! You told me to get pregnant with Brandon’s baby as soon as possible! Now you’re blaming everything on me?”

Just then, several police officers walked in.

“Who called the police?”

Alexander nodded to them. “I did. They falsely accused my fiancée of pushing someone, then assaulted her. The hotel has security footage of everything.”

Katie panicked even more. “I didn’t do it! I just graduated from college. I haven’t even found a job yet. I can’t end up with a criminal record! It was all Vanessa! She’s the one who made the false

accusations!”

Linda snapped out of her shock and quickly pointed at Vanessa too. “Exactly! Vanessa started it! She’s the one who started accusing Olivia!”

Vanessa froze, then pointed at them and shouted, “I started it? Have you forgotten what you said to me last night?”

Brandon grabbed her. “What happened last night? What did you talk about?”

Linda shrank back guiltily. “Don’t listen to her! We didn’t even see her last night!”

Katie nodded quickly. “That’s right! We had no idea Vanessa was so manipulative that she’d falsely accuse Olivia! Thank goodness you broke up with a woman like that!”

Vanessa hadn’t expected them to turn on her so quickly. She stopped pretending.

She

gave a cold laugh. “Katie, Mrs. Miller, do you really think I don’t have proof?”

Their expressions changed instantly. “What do you mean?”

Vanessa pulled out her phone and played a recording.
