His Captive Obsession Chapter 09

His Captive Obsession Chapter 09

The main living room on the first floor was sunken—beautiful, imposing.

The entire crowd was gathered there now, with the bruised and battered parents sitting across from us.

Daddy sat back on the plush sofa, legs crossed in a lazy, relaxed posture.

“Apologize,” he murmured.

With Daddy backing her, Victoria barked, “An apology isn’t enough! I want her behind bars!”

“I was talking to you,” Daddy clarified coldly. “For entering my home without my permission.”

Victoria froze, staring at him in shock.

“Harper is going to be your daughter eventually. What’s wrong with me throwing a birthday party for her in our future home?”

“She ate a cake made by this woman and ended up in the hospital!”

“No parent could stay calm under those circumstances!”

Daddy glanced at her face, which was swollen like a balloon while a maid held an ice pack against it.

“Are you calm now?”

Victoria hissed, “I’m your fiancée! We were so deeply in love before you lost your memory!”

“Right, that’s what everyone keeps telling me,” Daddy replied indifferently.

Wait. Wasn’t Daddy living with us before he lost his memory?

Oh my gosh. Did he have two separate families at the same time? Did Mom know about this? My little brain was doing backflips.

“So, what do you want to do?” Daddy asked her.

“Send her to jail, and make sure she and her brat leave this city forever.”

“That’s all?”

The deep cushions of the sofa made him look imposing, and the overhead lights cast a shadow that sent an intense, suffocating pressure through the room.

Victoria carefully slid closer to him, her posture softening as she tried to lean against his shoulder, her voice turning sweet.

“That’s all. I’ll leave the details up to you.”

Daddy threw a single sharp look her way, and she immediately sat back up straight.

“Whatever you think is best.”

Ashton spoke up defensively, “Mr. Vance, do rich people just get to make up their own laws here?”

“And who are you?” Daddy raised an eyebrow, his voice smooth and laced with heavy sarcasm.

“Can’t you tell? We’re a family,” Ashton shot back.

The other parents started whispering viciously.

“That woman is just a mistress for some old billionaire.”

They started making things up on the spot.

“I heard the guy is ancient and completely disgusting. The kid is probably from a secret affair with this young boy.”

Grandmother cleared her throat, and Mom clenched her fists, glaring at them. “Slander is still a crime.”

The parents immediately looked away, shrinking back into the couch.

“Mr. Vance, you can’t just sit there and let these people disrespect you in your own home,” Victoria complained.

Daddy stared at her silently, his fingers tapping a slow, rhythmic beat against the leather armrest.

“I’ll cover your medical bills.”

Ashton had been keeping his hands over my ears the whole time. Under Daddy’s intense scrutiny, he stood up straighter.

“I’m the child’s father.”

Daddy tilted his head, letting out a mocking laugh.

“You look like you just started shaving. Eighteen-year-olds always love to play hero.”

Ashton flared up. “Even if I’m just her stepdad, you have no right to treat them like this!”

Mom didn’t correct him. She simply looked at Daddy and asked, “Mr. Vance, when can we leave?”

“Depends on my mood,” Daddy replied, swinging his foot lazily in front of me.

“Then what makes you happy?”

“I don’t know. But right now, I’m incredibly annoyed.”

I looked at him and said, “Mister, I have school tomorrow.” I was lying; we were actually on spring break.

Hearing me call him “mister,” his lips twitched into a rigid smile.

“Great, now I’m even more annoyed.”

“So, none of you are leaving tonight.” He ordered the staff to prepare the guest rooms, then looked at Victoria. “The rest of you can get out.”

Victoria pouted, “It’s my first time staying over, how can you make me sleep in a guest room?”

Daddy fixed his gaze on her. “I said, you can leave.”

Victoria turned to Grandmother for help, and Grandmother’s face flushed with anger. “Tristan, she is your fiancée!”

Daddy’s voice remained ice-cold. “She’s the one you picked. If you like her so much, marry her yourself. Mother, do I need to have security escort you out too?”

A flash of genuine fear crossed Grandmother’s face. “Tristan, you used to be such a good, obedient boy.”

The light caught the sharp angles of Daddy’s face, casting a dangerous shadow.

“Good boys don’t put their own mothers in the intensive care unit. Mother, I lost my memories, not my sanity.”

Grandmother turned pale, and the room went dead silent.

Daddy let out a dark, amused laugh. “Show them out.”

The security guards moved in, and Grandmother and the guests left without another word.

Victoria, however, completely lost her composure, shrieking like a banshee as she pointed a manicured finger at Mom.

“She’s the woman who kept you prisoner!”

Mom froze, and I felt her grip on my hand tighten instantly.

Victoria sneered, “I’ve known for a long time that she was the one who locked you up for two years. Upstairs, she was perfectly fine taking the blame until I told her I was going to expose her identity. Then she turned white as a sheet.”

She looked at Mom triumphantly.

“Miss Linton, you know exactly what Tristan is capable of, which is why you’re terrified of him finding out the truth. Too bad for you, those slaps aren’t going unpunished, and your threats won’t work!”

“Tristan, I’m the only one who truly respects you. She kept you in chains and treated you like a dog—”

Daddy took a few slow steps toward her. “Are you saying she treated me like a dog?”

Victoria didn’t actually know the details, but to ruin Mom, she lied through her teeth. “Yes! She kept you chained up, beat you, and starved you. When you first came back, you were so feral the doctors had to use restraints…”

“I know the medical team; I paid for your records. I only did it because I love you so much! I’ve loved you for years, we were so happy until she ruined everything!”

Daddy let out a cruel, mocking laugh, grabbing her chin. “You only love the Vance name, the wealth, and the power.”

“That’s not true!” she cried, defending herself. “I didn’t want to be forced to marry some old businessman. Your face and body are unmatched in high society—why can’t you just love me back?”

She sobbed miserably, trying to look pathetic, but Daddy didn’t even look at her.

“Sorry, I’m allergic to plastic. Get her out of here.”

As the guards dragged her away, Daddy added, “And don’t bother coming back to work tomorrow, any of you. Since you can’t remember who pays your salaries and let trash into my house, you’re all fired.”
