Her New Life, His Eternal Pain Chapter 08

Her New Life, His Eternal Pain Chapter 08 Fiona Is Dead

Wedding of Liam Lane and Serena Shaw.

“Please welcome the bride!”

The officiant’s voice boomed.

Liam stood on the stage in a white tailcoat. Watched Serena walk toward him in her white gown.

Then her face blurred. Went out of focus. Slowly came back.

He blinked. It wasn’t Serena anymore. It was Fiona.

Memories flooded him.

Fiona asking, “What’s it like to be a bride?”

“You’ll find out when you marry me.”

Her shy, hopeful face. “Can we really be together? What if we break up?”

“Then I’ll chase you all over again.”

But now he was standing here with someone else.

He went through the motions like a robot. Vows. Gestures.

Just as he was about to put the ring on Serena’s finger, his secretary ran onto the stage. Pale and panicked.

“Mr. Lane. Someone’s looking for you.”

“Tell them to wait.”

“But… it’s Miss Foster. She’s called several times. I was afraid-”

Liam’s hand froze. He turned to look at the phone in the secretary’s hand.

The name FIONA flashing on the screen.

Serena’s eyes narrowed. She reached over and hung up. Grabbed his sleeve. Whispered, “Liam. This is out wedding.”

He snapped back. Glared at the secretary. “I don’t care. Get the hell out.”

The secretary flinched. Turned to leave. Then a notification popped up.

Liam heard the ping. Looked down without thinking.

In a heartbeat, his face went white. He snatched the phone, eyes scanning the message.

His hands started shaking violently.

CRASH.

The phone slipped. Hit the floor.

Everyone in the room stared. Their cold, composed CEO just bolted. Ran like a madman. Out of the

ceremony.

Behind him, his bride screamed his name.

But Liam didn’t hear a thing. His brain was stuck on the four words on that screen.

“Liam. Fiona is dead.”
