Her Husband Claims He Has No Function For Love Yet His Pulse Races Around Her Chapter 01

Her Husband Claims He Has No Function For Love Yet His Pulse Races Around Her Chapter 01

I had a whirlwind marriage. And I was married to a platonic husband.

Two years into the marriage, I’d lived as the so-called “unwanted wife”, and that day, I stumbled upon an anonymous post.

[What does it mean when I stand up every time I see my wife?]

A commenter roasted:

[You’re in love, dumbass. What else would it mean.]

But the OP wasn’t having it:

[Love? That’s impossible.]

[I’m from another planet. Not human. Love’s literally not in my system.]

[My wife is human. I’m only with her to stay on Earth without hassle.]

*********

The OP’s responses were so absurd the post blew up fast.

The comments roasted him hard, and I was loving every second of it.

[You’d rather give up being an Earthling than admit you like your wife? Tch. Tsundere much.]

[Oh yeah, sure, your consciousness doesn’t have the love function, but your body sure does. You still stand up for your wife. Terrifying.]

The OP fired back, dead serious about it:

[I think I didn’t explain to you properly.]

[Here is the situation. I’m genuinely from another planet. I married my wife using a humanoid form so I could remain here.]

[My wife said this is called a whirlwind marriage. No feelings involved.]

[But recently, my humanoid form has been off. Whenever my wife appears, I feel an uncontrollable urge to be near her, to touch her.]

[My body temperature rises, and the noise from my heartbeat gets louder. And when I said ‘stand up,’ I didn’t mean getting to my feet. I meant a body part acting on its own.]

[This has never happened before. I’m concerned a component in my humanoid form is malfunctioning, so I’m seeking advice. Thank you.]

were stunned:

[Wait, you’re for real, dude? You’re actually an alien?]

[Never mind all that. You’re clearly in love with your wife. What’s so hard about admitting it?]

[An alien who’s in love and doesn’t know it? That’s delicious.]

The OP:

[I’m not lying.]

[But as I stated above, I don’t possess the function of love. There are no feelings between my wife and me.]

[Setting love aside, is there something abnormal about my body? Do I need to go to a human hospital for an exam?]

Online friends chimed in with wild comments:

[I’m really starting to believe this guy’s an alien. The way he talks is so robotic. And he seems impossible to reason with.]

[It’s not an illness, alien bro. It’s called a crush. A crush. Heartbeat, you know?]

[Alien my ass. This is just some newbie content creator trying to grab attention. Can’t even make up a normal backstory these days, they gotta pull the alien gimmick. Mark my words, he’ll go live tomorrow. Let’s see if he’s selling protein powder or detox tea.]

I was fully glued to the screen when the bedroom door swung open.

Rowan had finished his shower and dried his hair, wearing the matching couple pajamas I’d bought for him.

His bangs, always neatly groomed on usual days, fell loosely across his forehead, lending him a rare, relaxed, everyday vibe.

“Audrey. I don’t feel well.”

I put down my phone, crawled out of the covers, and knelt on the soft mattress, pressing the back of my hand to his forehead.

Rowan flinched back on instinct, then leaned his head forward on his own.

“No fever. Your temperature’s fine. What’s wrong?”

“I don’t know. Everything feels wrong.”

Rowan looked down at me, voice flat.

Same as always.

I couldn’t help but think of the post I’d just read.

In some ways, Rowan talked a lot like the OP. No real emotional ups and downs.

And we were a whirlwind marriage too.

Nothing dramatic. I was getting pressured hard by my family, and so was he.

We clicked.

The difference was, the OP loved his wife without knowing it. Rowan genuinely didn’t love me.

I’d been blinded by his handsome face. I only checked his family background, occupation and infectious disease records, and completely forgot to ask about his orientation.

Turns out I’d unlocked a hidden variant.

A total platonic partner.

Rowan was gorgeous, fit, great at cooking, and hands over all his money.

The only catch? He just always wore that cold look. Like a flawless machine with no emotions.

This was the first time he’d ever shown me a vulnerable side.

Surprised, I could only go off instinct to comfort him.

“It’s probably nothing. You might just be worn out from work. Get some rest tonight and see how you feel.”

“Okay.”

Rowan slid into his side of the bed.

I turned off the light and found myself thinking back to that post.

True or not, the OP’s persona is totally convincing, and I can’t help but envy his wife.

An emotionless alien, who developed feelings for a human.

Yet my own husband, a fellow human, feels nothing for me. He can lie beside me every night with utterly indifference.

A dull weight settled in my chest. I let out a very soft sigh.

“What is it?” Rowan asked.

I hadn’t realized he was still awake. I froze for a second.

“No… nothing. Just thinking. Do you think aliens could actually be real?”

Rowan didn’t answer for a long time.

I immediately regretted asking such a boring, stupid question.

In the silence, Rowan suddenly turned on his side and wrapped his arms around me. His hold was broad and warm.

“Don’t be scared. Aliens don’t exist. Go to sleep.”
