He Told Me He Slept With Her, on Our Wedding Bed, in My Dress Chapter 07

When Callum brought the marriage certificate back to me, he thought I would believe him.

Instead. I got even angrier.

I grabbed everything within reach that I could lift and hurled it at him, my eyes red as I shouted. “You couldn’t even

keep our marriage certificate safe. You don’t love me at all. I want a divorce.”

The word divorce threw him into instant panic.

He dropped to his knees on the spot and started explaining himself.

That was my fault, but we can get another copy. I swear I’ll keep this one safe. Please trust me, okay?”

In the end, after repeated begging on his knees and a wire transfer worth eight figures with no strings attached, I finally

relented and agreed to ‘start over’ with a new filing at the courthouse.

When we got in the car, I deliberately took the back seat.

The second I sat down, Callum smiled and reminded me. “Baby, did you forget? You get carsick in the back.”

I stared out the window without turning around. “I don’t want the front seat. I keep thinking some other woman

might’ve sat there, and it makes me sick.”

His face stiffened.

Then he forced an awkward smile and said, “No one did. But if you don’t like it, I’ll get a different car when we get back.”

I gave no real response.

Getting the new license was quick.

But the second it was done, I grabbed his hand and marched him straight to the clerk’s desk for dissolutions.

“I want a divorce,” I said. “Getting another copy changes nothing. I want us divorced first, then married again.”

Of course he did not want that.

But by then he had no idea how to handle this newer version of me, the one who could act spoiled, throw tantrums, and

press exactly where it hurt.

Especially not when I turned to him with shimmering eyes and demanded. “What, are you scared that if we divorce, you

won’t marry me again? You heartless bastard.”

That sent him into a panic fast enough.

“How could that happen?” he said. “Fine. We’ll get divorced first, then we’ll remarry”

The people nearby all looked at me like I was some unreasonable little wife throwing a fit in public

I did not bother correcting them, and Callum simply leaned into it.

“My wife.” he said with helpless affection. I’m supposed to spoil her.”

Lost in the happiness of getting another chance, he never noticed the cold. predatory glint in my eyes.

On the drive home, we picked a new wedding date.

One month later.
