He Threatened My Parents For His Assistant, Not Knowing She Was His Sister Chapter 02

Ethan’s face went purple.

“Claire, your sister’s death has nothing to do with me. If I find out you’re cursing my sister, I will end you.”

He grabbed the signed waiver and walked out without looking back.

The second he was gone, I collapsed into my parents’ arms.

My mom held me tight.

“Claire… you used everything you had to get him where he is. Was it worth it?”

Something cold flickered behind my eyes. I looked up at her.

“Mom. Call Grandfather. Cut all ties with Vance Holdings. I’m filing for divorce.”

Ethan defeated his uncle because my grandfather backed him in secret.

If he’s bored of that CEO chair, I’ll find someone else to sit in it.

I looked at the bruises on my parents and didn’t waste another second. I took them straight to the hospital.

They were mostly just shaken up. A few days of rest would be enough.

I’d just finished checking them in when Ethan walked in with Scarlett leaning on his arm.

She looked weak. Pitiful. A little too practiced.

“Mr. Vance, ever since the accident, I can’t close my eyes without seeing blood. The doctor says I have severe depression. I need to be hospitalized, but the ward’s full.”

Ethan’s eyes landed on the room behind me. Cold.

“Claire. Have your parents move. Scarlett needs this room.”

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

“Ethan, you had my parents kidnapped. They’re injured. And you want them to give their room to the woman who killed your sister?”

Scarlett rolled her eyes so subtly only I caught it.

“It was an accident. And you already took the money. Or are you trying to squeeze more out of Mr. Vance by playing the victim with your parents?”

The crowd around us started murmuring.

“These people? They swore up and down they’d get justice for their daughter, then took the money and skipped the hearing.”

“Now they’re playing hurt in the hospital. Bet they want more cash.”

“Using your kid’s death for a payday. Disgusting.”

Ethan’s voice cut through.

“You’ve already been paid. Stop milking your sister’s death for sympathy. Give Scarlett the room.”

“You owe her this. Your family pushed her into depression.”

I laughed. I couldn’t help it.

“She killed someone. We don’t owe her a thing.”

Ethan’s jaw tightened.

“If the money’s not enough, I’ll transfer another ten million. Just move.”

Scarlett piped up from behind him.

“Twenty million could buy your whole family’s lives, Claire. I’d say that’s generous.”

Ethan gave a small nod.

Guards flooded the room and dragged my parents out of bed.

I shoved myself between them and Ethan.

“Ethan, these are your in-laws. Do you have no conscience?”

His eyes went flat.

“Claire, everything you have, you have because of me. Your parents are in this room on my family’s name.”

I smiled at him. Bitter.

“When’s the last time you talked to your sister?”

He blinked, caught off guard. Then his face went harder.

“Your sister died because she was unlucky. She deserved it. Stop comparing her to mine. My sister’s at the academy. Safe.”

I held his gaze.

“We’ll see who deserved it.”
