He Saved A Spot For Her, Leaving No Room For Me Chapter 08

He Saved A Spot For Her, Leaving No Room For Me Chapter 08

The ballroom fell into chaos.

Ethan chased me into the hotel corridor and thrust the pearl hair comb in front of me.

“I shouldn’t have let her wear it.”

“I know I messed up.”

I glanced at it.

Tessa’s hair gel was still on it.

“Throw it away.”

His hand shook.

“This was made from your mother’s photo.”

“That makes it even dirtier.”

His eyes were red.

“Iris, don’t be like this.”

“Hit me if you want.”

“Just don’t throw away everything I gave you.”

I looked at him.

“Ethan, do you know what I hate most about you?”

His voice was hoarse. “What?”

“It’s not that you don’t love me.”

“You do.”

“That’s why every time after you hurt me, you pull out something real.”

“The almond milk was real. The stomach meds were real. The pearl comb was real. Tearing up

pre-nup was real.”

the

His tears fell.

“Then why can’t you trust me one more time?”

I laughed.

“Because the permissions you gave Tessa were also real.”

He froze.

“You gave her convenience. You gave her exceptions. You gave her the door. You gave her the dress.

You gave her the money.”

“Then you saved a few memories to make me feel moved.”

“Ethan, I’m not a beggar.”

Tessa burst out of the dressing room.

Her makeup was ruined, her white dress wrinkled.

“Ethan, stop pretending to be so devoted now.”

“Don’t tell me you didn’t enjoy it.”

He turned, his voice ice-cold. “Shut up.”

She wouldn’t.

“You told me Iris was too strong-being with her felt like a test.”

“You said only I needed you.”

“You said she was sensible and would never really leave.”

Ethan’s face went pale, inch by inch.

I watched him.

He didn’t deny it.

Tessa kept going.

“The fingerprint for the house-you said you’d do it later.

“Her household card-you said she didn’t need one.”

“Her dress-you said I could try it on for her.”

‘Her money-you said you’d lend it to me first, and she wouldn’t mind.”

She turned to me, laughing and shaking.

“Iris, I never actually beat you.”

“I didn’t need to.”

“All I had to do was cry once, and he’d hand your things right to me.”

Ethan’s hand shot up.

The slap never landed.

I said, “Don’t.”

His eyes lit up for a second-he thought I was softening.

I finished, “You’ll just have to wash your hands after.”

That light died.

Ethan swallowed hard.

“Iris, I’ll transfer the money to you right now.

“I’ll sell the house and give you everything.”

“I’ll cancel the Costco card.”

“From now on, all my passwords, accounts, everything-it all goes to you.”

He shoved his phone into my hands.

“Delete whoever you want. Right now.”

I didn’t take it.

“It’s too late.”

“Why?” His voice was wrecked.

“Because I already took back my permissions.”

“Not from Tessa.”

“From you.”

Ethan stepped back, like he finally understood.

Tessa lunged forward again.

But Nadia was already there-with officers.

“Ms. Harris, regarding identity theft and malicious framing, please come with us.”

Tessa screamed for Ethan. “Ethan-say something!”

Ethan stood there.

For the first time, he didn’t move.

They led Tessa away, still crying.

But this time, no one felt sorry for her.
