He Pretended To Prepare An Elaborate Luna Ceremony But Secretly Marked Another Omega Chapter 06

During the dinner, a pack elder asked about our upcoming mating date.

Gabriel walked back to my side, throwing an arm around my shoulder.

“Next month on the eighteenth. Make sure you all show up to bear witness.”

His smile was triumphant.

The elders raised their glasses, showering us with congratulations and praising us as a match made by fate.

I looked down, catching a glimpse beneath the heavy tablecloth. Samantha’s foot was gently nudging Gabriel’s leg.

Gabriel’s hand slid off my shoulder, dropping casually to his side.

In reality, his fingers reached behind Samantha’s chair, softly stroking the small of her back.

I picked up my napkin and delicately dabbed my lips. “Excuse me, I need to use the restroom.”

I stood up, looking at no one, and walked out of the ballroom.

Gabriel followed me out, leaning against the corridor wall just outside the lounge.

“What’s wrong? Are you tired?”

“No.”

Seeing me wash my hands and step out, he automatically offered me a paper towel.

“Then why were you so quiet back there?”

He stared into my eyes, trying to read whatever was hidden behind them.

“Nothing to say.”

I tossed the towel into the bin and turned to look him dead in the eye.

“Gabriel.”

“Yeah?”

“Next month on the eighteenth is a perfect day.”

My sudden compliance caught him off guard, and a relieved smile broke across his face.

“Of course it is. It’s the day we seal our bond.”

He reached out to touch my cheek.

I took a half-step back, letting his hand fall into empty air.

I watched the confusion register in his eyes.

“Make sure she attends on time.”

Gabriel’s hand froze mid-air, his smile instantly hardening.

“Who? Samantha?”

I smoothed down the fabric of my dress, my tone as casual as if I were commenting on the weather.

“Didn’t you say she needs exposure to these events? Our ceremony will be massive. It’s the perfect learning opportunity for her.”

Gabriel let out a barely perceptible sigh of relief, shoving his hands into his suit pockets.

“Right. The whole pack is invited anyway. As my assistant, she’ll definitely be there.”

“Good.” I nodded, stepping past him toward the ballroom.

“Floral” he called out sharply behind me.

“Have you… been listening to rumors lately?”

I turned around, studying his carefully constructed facade. “Like what?”

“Like… stupid gossip about me and Samantha.”

He shrugged, offering a casual scoff. “You know how it is. She’s just a stray Omega who recently joined us. I’m only doing my duty as Alpha by looking out for her.”

“No. I haven’t heard a thing.”

Gabriel completely relaxed.

Over the next few days, I started packing up my things at the pack house.

I didn’t make a sound, but every morning the trash bags I hauled to the curb contained a little more of my existence.

The expensive gifts he bought me that I secretly hated.

The framed photographs of us that were meant to hold memories.

I even listed the limited-edition designer handbag he bought me last month on an online consignment app.

When Gabriel came home from work, he stared at the entryway closet, noticing half the shoe racks were bare.

“Where did all your shoes go?”

“They were getting old. I threw them out.”

I sat on the rug, continuing to sort through a pile of old books.

He didn’t suspect a thing, sitting down on the floor beside me.

“Good riddance. I’ll have the Beta send over a dozen pairs from the new season line tomorrow.”

He looked around the living room and smiled.

“Flora, have you been purging the house? The place looks a lot cleaner.”

“Yeah.”

“That’s great. Once our bond is official, we’ll move into a much larger estate anyway. There’s no point in dragging all this old junk with us.”

He was right. Rotten, broken things didn’t deserve to be kept.

Including the space he used to occupy

Just wait. Very soon, I am going to let you see exactly how rotten it has become.
