He Only Wanted His Foster Sister, Yet Burned For Me Instead Chapter 11

He Only Wanted His Foster Sister, Yet Burned For Me Instead Chapter 11

Over the past few days, the livestream chat had practically been holding a vigil for me, virtually lighting candles left and right.

They kept saying the Sterling Group was a massive, untouchable empire and that I stood zero chance against them. But even a fictional world has a police force and a legal system.

When Hilary bullied me before, I endured it. Partly to keep caught in Tristan’s orbit, and partly

because those were just petty, juvenile squabbles.

Even if I had pulled the cops on her back then, her parents would have pulled a few strings, used their leverage, and gotten her off completely scot-free.

But this time was entirely different.

Distributing explicit, defamatory flyers and maliciously tampering with someone’s official university application.

The evidence was rock-solid, and since Hilary was already a legal adult, she was fully facing

criminal charges.

I tried calling Tristan, but it went straight to voicemail. Growing anxious about his safety, I went straight to the Sterling estate.

The front doors were wide open, and Hilary’s high-pitched laughter echoed clearly from the master

bedroom.

“I altered her university application, and it’s all your fault, brother,” she cooed.

Tristan was lying flat on the bed with his eyes shut, his brows knit tight into a deep scowl. He had clearly been drugged with something heavy.

Hilary sat right on the edge of the mattress, clutching his phone tightly in her hand. She casually brushed a stray lock of hair from his forehead, her voice completely detached and airy.

“I pulled the security footage from the hotel. You two slept together, didn’t you? The more you care about her, the more I’m going to completely destroy her.”

On the bed, the boy’s fingertips twitched slightly, his heavy eyelids forcing open a fraction of a millimeter. His lips parted, trembling, but he couldn’t squeeze out a single sound.

Catching sight of me standing in the doorway, Hilary stiffened for a brief second before expanding

into a wide, malicious grin.

“The admissions deadline just closed. Your pathetic, broke little life is officially over, Maeve.”

“Is that so?”

I crossed the room in three steps, closing the distance between us, grabbed her wrist, and violently snapped it downward.

“Ah-!”

Hilary shrieked in sudden agony.

During the dark months when the loan sharks were hounding me, I had learned exactly how to fight. I knew precisely how to inflict the absolute maximum amount of physical pain without leaving a single trace of forensic evidence.

I slammed her face-first into the mattress, drove my knee straight into her spine to pin her down, and gripped her right fingers, violently bending them backward toward her wrist. Ten fingers. One by one, I took my time.

Hilary screamed until her voice completely split apart, a thick layer of cold sweat breaking out under her fingernails.

The chat went completely berserk:

[Holy shit!!! The plot has derailed into another universe! The second female lead is brutally beating the female lead-this is complete anarchy!]

[Why is this so satisfying to watch, though? The female lead totally brought this on herself.]

[Look at the male lead’s eyes-he hasn’t stopped staring at the second female lead for a single

second.]

[Yeah! He looks so frantic and worried, his knuckles are literally white from gripping the bedsheets… Is he terrified the second female lead is going to get hurt?!]

Tristan forced himself up, propping his weight against the headboard on one elbow.

His beautiful features twisted into a deep frown as he rasped out: “Maeve… are you okay?”

Hilary snapped her head around, her expression twisting into utter, frantic shock: “Tristan! She’s physically assaulting me! Are you completely blind?!”

Yet, Tristan looked like a completely different person. When he turned his eyes toward Hilary, they

were filled with nothing but ice-cold indifference.

“You might be my sister in name, but my girlfriend is clearly furious,” he said quietly, his voice dangerously level. “So do us all a favor and go to hell.”

Hilary’s entire psychological defenses completely shattered.
