He Made My Wedding Dress Half a Size Too Small, Then Begged Chapter 06

He’d give her some space, let her cool off, and she’d come back on her own.

Maybe he’d even fix the size after all.

But days passed and Emma didn’t come back.

Looking at the altered gown, Liam kept remembering how happy she’d looked when she first

received it.

Finally, he couldn’t wait any longer. He decided to swallow his pride and make the first move.

He drove back to their apartment.

Nothing seemed different at first glance.

But then he looked closer. Her clothes were gone from the closet. The second toothbrush was

missing from the bathroom.

Everything that was hers had vanished.

That’s when real panic set in. She’d really left.

He went to her office. Her coworkers spotted him and started congratulating him on the wedding.

“Congrats, Mr. Sterling and Victoria! Guess you two weren’t as subtle as you thought.”

“Yeah, honestly, it was obvious. The way you’d obsess over every design for her? That kind of attention doesn’t need explaining.”

Liam’s heart stopped. Even they had seen it that way.

He forced himself to stay calm and changed the subject. “Where’s Emma? She’s not in today?”

“She quit. Went overseas, I heard.”

His voice turned urgent. “Overseas where? I didn’t hear about any of this!”

The coworkers blinked at his intensity. “Why are you asking about Emma? Isn’t she the one who

tried to break you and Victoria up? The homewrecker?”

Liam stopped mid-step and turned back around.

He’d told Emma to ignore the comments-they were just words, it wouldn’t kill her.

But hearing her called a homewrecker with his own ears felt like a knife twisting in his chest.

“Watch your mouths. Emma is not the other woman.”

He left without waiting for their response, ignoring the confused murmurs behind him.

He found the company CEO, Alexander Prescott. “Where did you send Emma?”

Alexander looked up calmly. “Mr. Sterling, we’re business partners. I don’t owe you details on my

employees.”

“Besides, shouldn’t you be with your new wife? Why are you chasing after Emma?”

Liam’s jaw clenched tight. “Alexander, we went to college together. You know exactly what she means to me. She’s my fiancée!”

Alexander’s lips curled into a sardonic smile. “Emma? Your fiancée? Last I checked, you’re a

married man.”

The mockery in his voice brought back old campus gossip-that Alexander had once had a crush on Emma, and Liam had swooped in first.

That’s why he’d watched Alexander carefully after graduation, making sure nothing was off. But

now…

“So the rumors were true,” Liam bit out. “Alexander, Victoria and I were just putting on a show. Once I explain everything to Emma, she’ll come back. Don’t even think about it.”

“Even without your help, I’ll find her.”

He spun around and left in a rush.

Every call, every text-all of them were ignored.

Emma had blocked him on every social platform. He made burner accounts just to try to reach her.

While searching, he kept reworking the ill-fitting gown.

He dragged friends into the hunt. Two weeks later, he finally traced her IP address to New Zealand.

He booked the next flight out and brought the adjusted dress with him.

Once there, he tried for days to find her. But one man’s search was slow and limited.”

He used business inquiries with local design firms as cover. Finally, Emma’s name appeared on a

partner company’s roster.

The night before the meeting, he ironed his suit.

But the whole pitch went by without a single glimpse of her.

As he was leaving, he couldn’t hold back anymore. “I heard you have a designer who just transferred from the States? I was hoping she could consult on this project-this collection leans

Eastern, and her perspective would help.”

“Oh, you mean Emma Holloway? Alexander took her to an art exhibition. Won’t be back until next

month.”

Liam’s jaw clenched so hard his teeth ached. “Alexander!”

He tracked down the exhibition hall and told the owner he was a husband trying to reconcile with his wife. Could he borrow the space?

The owner agreed happily.

The next morning, Liam set up early, placing the altered gown in the center of the hall, alongside a banner with an apology written on it.

He finished setting everything up and waited for me to arrive.

But the owner thought his “wife” was Victoria-since that’s what the internet had broadcasted

everywhere. So he invited Victoria on Liam’s behalf without telling him.

When spectators gathered, they expected a reunion. Instead, they saw Liam gape at Victoria in

shock.

“Victoria? What are you doing here?”
