He Made Me Pay Half the Rent, While Giving Her Every Penny of His Bonus Chapter 09

The livestream chat went completely insane.

[Another twist!]

[So Mrs. Howard kept blaming her daughter-in-law for being infertile, and it turns out her own

son is the one who can’t? Julian can’t even do it! And he still cheated!]

[Then whose baby is Vivian carrying? That’s terrifying to think about!]

Mrs. Howard stood frozen. Her lips trembled as she looked at me, then at Vivian’s stomach.

“Whose child is that?”

Vivian took a step back. “Just listen to me explain-”

Mrs. Howard lunged forward and grabbed Vivian by the hair. “You filthy whore! You got

pregnant with some other man’s bastard and tried to pass it off as my son’s!”

Vivian screamed as she struggled, but Mrs. Howard slapped her hard, sending her to the

ground. “I’ll kill you, you shameless bitch! Trying to make the Howard family raise

your

bastard!”

She scratched wildly at Vivian’s face. Vivian shrieked and clutched her stomach while ripping

out a handful of Mrs. Howard’s hair.

Julian rushed forward to break them apart, but Mrs. Howard turned and slapped him across

the face.

“And you! You worthless sack of shit! If you can’t perform, why didn’t you say so earlier? I’ve

been waiting for a grandson all these years! I’ll kill both of you!”

The trio tumbled in a heap of flailing limbs. Curses and screams filled the air. People backed

away, holding up their phones to film.

“This is the drama of the year! Mrs. Howard was defending Vivian just a moment ago, and

now she’s beating her!”

I stood at the edge of the crowd, quietly watching them fight. It took the police a long time to

finally pull them apart. All three of them were injured.

Vivian’s face was covered with bloody scratches. Mrs. Howard had a bald patch where her

hair had been ripped out. Julian’s shirt buttons were completely torn off.

Vivian covered her face and cried hysterically. “How dare you hit me? The baby I’m carrying

belongs to the Howard family!”

Mrs. Howard spat directly in her face. “Bullshit! My son can’t even father a child! What

Howard family baby are you talking about? You’re carrying some other man’s bastard!”

Vivian froze. Then she suddenly turned to Julian, her voice shrill.

“You useless piece of trash! You knew you couldn’t perform and still hid it from me! I had to

sleep with other men because of you!”

Julian’s face turned red with rage. “What did you say?”

Vivian completely lost control.

“You think I wanted to sleep with other men? You’re the one who can’t do it! You wanted me

to have a child, so who else was I supposed to go to? You useless impotent piece of

garbage!”

Julian stared at her, his entire body trembling from rage. Then he lunged forward, pinned

Vivian to the ground, and began beating her.

Vivian screamed and fought back. The two of them started brawling again.

Mrs. Howard jumped around beside them, cursing, occasionally rushing in to land a few

more blows. The police had to exert tremendous effort to restrain everyone again.

As Julian was dragged away, he turned to look at me. His expression was complicated.

I said nothing. I simply smiled and waved at him. His face turned ashen as he was shoved

into the police car.

Mrs. Howard collapsed on the ground, crying hysterically. “My son! My son! Officer, you’re

mistaken! He was framed!”

The crowd slowly dispersed, though the livestream chat was still exploding.

[This twist is insane! Julian and Vivian deserve each other… two monsters locked together!]

I stood there quietly and looked up at the sky. The sunlight was bright. It stung my eyes a little. My vision blurred, but I didn’t cry.

Dad, are you watching? I’ve avenged you at last.

Later, Julian got slapped with twelve years for obstruction, assault, and siphoning off our

assets.

Vivian was sentenced to fifteen years for homicide and assault. Her pregnancy did not

reduce her sentence. After the child was born, it was immediately placed in an orphanage.

Mrs. Howard fainted in the courtroom. After she woke up, she suffered a stroke that left half

her body paralyzed.

Mr. Howard took care of her alone. The house that they had almost transferred away during

the redevelopment was frozen during the investigation.

In the end, it was legally awarded to me. I didn’t keep it. I donated it to charity.

After Vivian’s baby was born, a paternity test confirmed the child was not Julian’s. Even

Vivian didn’t know who the father was.

When Julian heard about it in prison, he tried to kill himself by smashing his head against the

wall that same night. He survived, but was transferred to psychiatric supervision.

Hearing her son had cracked up in prison triggered Mrs. Howard’s second stroke. This time,

she didn’t survive. Mr. Howard continued living alone in that old neighborhood.

Later, I heard he sold the house and moved away. No one ever heard from him again.

Three

years later, I visited Julian in prison once. He sat behind the glass partition. His eyes

were empty. He looked older than before.

I picked up the phone and told him what had happened to his family. For a moment, clarity

returned to his eyes. Then tears slowly streamed down his face.

I hung up the phone and turned to leave. When I stepped out of the prison gates, sunlight

poured in, warm and unrelenting.

Behind me, the heavy prison doors slowly closed. I didn’t look back.
