He Killed Me for His Wife, So I Exposed Her Betrayal Chapter 15

The police were stunned.

Desmond was stunned, too.

After all, from the hospital to the police station, I hadn’t said a single word to him.

First I called the police, then I offered to drop it. It took everyone by surprise.

But I insisted, and in the end, the police let us both go.

After we walked out of the station, Desmond immediately cornered me. “What the hell are you playing at?”

“Don’t think this means I’m letting you off the hook. We are going to settle what you did to Helena.”

I looked at him and asked, very seriously, “Desmond, in all the years we dated, did I ever once ask you for money?”

He froze, then thought about it.

“No. Why are you bringing that up now?”

“No reason. I just want you to think.”

“When we used to go out to eat, I always insisted on splitting the bill. Do I seem like the kind of person who leeches off of others?”

My tone was calm.

Desmond said nothing.

I continued.

“You also know I can’t even figure out the rules of Texas Hold’em. Do you really think I’d run off to Las Vegas to gamble?”
