He Hated My Type, Now He’s Begging Chapter 02

He Hated My Type, Now He’s Begging Chapter 02

The live chat fed me their entire conversation.

From it, I learned one thing: I was nothing more than pretty set dressing. My only purpose was to make his devotion to her look even more obvious.

In his eyes, she was the most beautiful girl in the world.

They said that on the first day, when Harrison glanced at me, Serena panicked that he might actually take an interest in me.

She’d always been insecure about her own looks next to his. Afraid she wasn’t good enough.

So she told her friend she thought Harrison liked me.

That rumor reached him, and he shot it down immediately.

Later, she heard him say he couldn’t stand gold-digging, shallow women like me, and finally relaxed.

[What good is being a knockout if the male lead won’t even look at you?]

[Serena’s still testing if he’s into the NPC? Babe he only has eyes for YOU!]

Serena kept pushing Nora and Gemma to go after her brother.

The chat started shading me again, calling me a gold-digger.

I stared at the screen, expressionless.

The broke guys at school wouldn’t even look my way.

The rich ones? None of them could hold a candle to me in looks or grades.

They had zero charisma, so they threw money around.

To me, it was just a mutually beneficial arrangement.

Fine. If they’re gonna call me a gold-digger, I might as well go for the biggest prize on campus.

Before the other two could answer, I cut off Serena’s rambling.

“Would you mind one more girl on his tail?”

Her smile faltered. “You’re into Harrison? Didn’t you just break up?”

I shrugged. “I heard someone say he liked me. Got curious, that’s all.”

Serena froze, a flicker of doubt in her eyes.

She’d started that rumor herself. She never thought it’d reach me.

She recovered quickly, glancing at my designer bag with a cooler tone.

“He’s never liked materialistic people.”

“But if you want to try, be my guest.”

“He’s got plenty of cash to burn.”

Then she added awkwardly, “I mean, who knows if the rumor’s even true. I just didn’t want to push you if you were still hung up on your ex.”

The shyness vanished from their faces. They stared at me. “Lilith, you’re actually going to chase someone?”

Nora looked horrified. “With a face like yours? Serena’s brother has a terrible temper! Wake up!”

Gemma hesitated, then added, “Maybe the rumor’s true. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. He’s been showing up at our dorm a lot lately.”

“And he covers dinner for the whole dorm”

They exchanged a knowing glance, eyes lighting up with gossip.

I’d been top of my class since freshman year. I carried every group project. My roommates loved me for it.

After a quick huddle, they both decided not to pursue Harrison. Instead, they’d be my wingwomen.

“We’re more into shipping anyway. And Lilith’s face with your brother? Perfect match.”

Serena went quiet, staring at her phone.

I guessed she was texting him again.
