He Cut My Tendons to Make Room for Her, Then Promised to Keep Me as a Pet Chapter 07

I thought everything was over.

I never expected to see Elias again.

That day, my mother was helping me with my rehabilitation exercises in the yard when a figure

appeared at the gate.

“Lily…”

The moment he saw me, Elias’ eyes turned red. His voice shook as he walked toward me.

I watched him coldly as he set down the gifts he had brought, a faint, mocking smile tugging at my

lips.

We had been married for years, and he had never once visited my parents.

Now he suddenly knew how to show up with gifts.

“Lily, I was wrong. I had no idea Amber was that vicious. I never meant for you to be hurt this badly. Come back with me. Let’s start over. I swear I will never hurt you again.”

I pulled my hand away and looked at him, my voice ice cold.

“Are you really going to stand there and tell me you knew nothing?”

“The hospital withholding anesthesia and delaying my surgery. Reporting me for stealing from the Elite Performance Corps so everyone turned on me. Are you saying you had no idea about any of

that?”

Elias’ face went pale. His cracked lips trembled as he tried to speak, but no words came out.

“It… it was Amber. She kept manipulating me. That’s why I made those mistakes,” he muttered, still trying to shift the blame.

I shook my head in disappointment and turned to leave.

But he grabbed my hand and suddenly dropped to his knees in front of me.

“Lily, please. Just give me one more chance. Let me make it up to you.”

My mother could not hold back any longer.

She stepped forward and kicked him hard in the chest.

The woman who had always been gentle was now furious, striking and yelling at him.

“I gave my daughter to you, and this is how you treated her? You’re a monster! We didn’t even come after you, and you still had the nerve to show up here. Take your garbage and get out!”

She stood in front of me, shielding me, and my eyes stung as I looked at her back.

Elias was knocked to the ground, completely stunned. He stared at my mother as if only now

realizing who she was.

I caught my mother’s hand before she could hit him again and gently brushed the dirt off her

fingers.

“Take your trash and leave. Don’t ever show up in front of me again.”

I gave him one last indifferent glance and turned to go back inside with my mother.

Then suddenly, a sharp voice rang out from the gate.

“Elias! Please help me! I don’t have any money left. You have to save me!”

Amber stood there, filthy from head to toe. The soles of her shoes were worn through. Who knew

how far she had walked to get here.

Elias shot her a look full of disgust and shoved her away when she tried to grab him.

“Don’t touch me.”

The coldness in his voice cut deep.

Amber stared at him in disbelief. Her hands fumbled through her torn pocket before pulling out a

rough, worn stone.

“Elias, this was the token you gave me when we were kids. You said you would only ever marry

me.”

Elias finally snapped.

He raised his hand and slapped her hard across the face.
