He Could See My Comments, I Used Them To Tease Him Chapter 02

From that day on, Silas stopped just watching me.

When I complained the cafeteria food sucked, he’d sneak homemade lunch into my drawer.

When I griped about a hard test, he’d pass his notes to me through someone else.

He never actually spoke to me, but he had basically turned into a wishing well—whatever I mentioned wanting in my comments, it showed up in my drawer the next day.

He wasn’t exactly subtle about it. Many classmates noticed.

The ice-cold campus heartthrob who kept everyone at arm’s length was constantly giving me things, and yet there wasn’t a hint of romance between us.

Zora glanced at my sandwich, then turned to look at Silas in the back row.

The flush on his face had faded by then.

“Silas brought you another sandwich again,” she said, chin resting on her hand. “Yvette, you’re not bullying him, are you?”

I was mentally drafting another comment to Silas when her words made me widen my eyes.

“What? He’s just too shy to admit he likes me, so he’s showing it this way instead.”

And besides, my so-called “bullying” days were two years behind me.

Back then, a few thugs were pushing our classmates around, so I stepped in to stand up for them.

That one move somehow branded me as the local menace, and the legend’s stuck ever since.

Zora clearly didn’t buy my explanation.

bit into my sandwich with a little too much force, feeling pretty frustrated.

I’d spent all this time playing a stranger in the comments, teasing Silas nonstop, yet we had barely exchanged a handful of words.

How do you even get a romance started when both of you are too cool to crack first?

Me making the first move? Not a chance.

But after a whole week of blabbing nonsense through the comments, Silas still hadn’t made a peep.

Just as I was stewing on it, an opportunity dropped into my lap.

Afternoon lab class, pick-your-own-partner. Pairs of two.

Nobody wanted to partner with Silas.

The guys didn’t want to be a background prop. The girls froze up before they even got close, scared off by his icy stare.

I went off in the comments.

[This is a golden opportunity—Yvette hasn’t paired up yet, Silas, go ask her now!]

[Is this finally chapter one of “The Badass Girl and Her Softie Heartthrob”?]

[Her affection’s sky-high. If he asks to partner up, there’s no way she says no.]

I rattled off another string of comments, and only when I saw Silas walking toward me did I snap out of it.

My heart sped up with every step he took. I swallowed, scrambling for the right words.

Should I just say yes right away? Or play it cool a little longer?

Should I sound thrilled, like “sure!” Or aloof, like I was doing him a favor by saying “whatever, fine”?

He stopped in front of me, and a long, pale hand reached out.

I looked up instinctively and met Silas’s flawless face. Before I knew it, the words just slipped out.

“I’d love to!”

Dead silence.

He looked at me for a beat, then scooped up my breakfast trash and walked off with it.

I wanted to die of embarrassment right there.

I gritted my teeth at his retreating figure—I’d clearly caught that flash of amusement in his eyes just now.

He did that on purpose!

Zora leaned over.

“He actually took your trash out for you…”

“You’re definitely bullying him. That gorgeous, and you’re still bullying him.”

I pulled up the comment panel and forced myself not to curse Silas out.

[Was he just teasing her? So sweet!]
